Neom’s assistant coach, “Terry Olksak,” attributed his team’s 0-1 loss to Al-Nassr in the match held at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh, as part of the tenth round of the Saudi Professional League “Roshen League,” to the failure to capitalize on opportunities, confirming that his players executed the game plan during periods of the match but did not convert it into goals.
He said in the press conference: “We were aware of the difficulty of facing Al-Nassr, especially in midfield and attack. We started well and ended the first half positively, and the second half was more balanced.”
He added: “We created good chances by recovering the ball in advanced areas and transitioning quickly, but the lack of the final touch deprived us of scoring.”
Regarding the tension on the bench, he explained: “It was due to the concern for the safety of one of our players after he fell on his head; the fear for him was behind the coaching staff’s agitation.”
He pointed out that the approach relied on a compact defensive block to limit Al-Nassr’s danger and prepare for counter-attacking opportunities, expressing satisfaction with periods of defensive performance.
