حين يتجول الجار المألوف بين أزقة الحي، ويشارك الأطفال تفاصيل ألعابهم البريئة، لا يتسرب إلى أذهان العائلات قط أن اليد التي تلوح لهم بالتحية قد تمتد يوماً لتنهي حياة طفلة لم تفهم من الدنيا سوى براءة الطفولة. في حي العمران الأعلى بالعاصمة التونسية، استيقظ السكان على كابوس لم يكن في الحسبان، تحولت معه أهازيج اللعب إلى فاجعة مكتملة الأركان.
بدأت القصة بخطوات صغيرة نحو الشارع بعد وجبة الإفطار، حيث استأذنت الصغيرة والدتها للحاق بأقرانها، عابرةً في طريقها لتأخذ شاحن سماعات من جارهم الشاب المعروف بـ«روبي»، والذي اعتاد اللعب مع الأطفال وكان جزءاً مألوفاً من تفاصيل المنطقة. لكن ساعات اللهو تحولت إلى صمت مطبق، فالأم التي خرجت لتتفقد ابنتها لم تجد لها أثراً، ولاحظت في الوقت ذاته غياب «روبي» عن مرأى الجميع.
وأشعلت شهادات الأطفال فتيل القلق، مؤكدين أن زميلتهم غادرت رفقة الجار المذكور. ومع إبلاغ السلطات الأمنية، بدأت رحلة بحث مضنية حول محيط الحي، لتنتهي الصدمة الأولى بالعثور على جثة الطفلة هامدة فوق سطح منزل مجاور، بينما كانت الأجهزة الأمنية تضع يدها على المشتبه به الرئيسي.
وداخل غرف التحقيق، سلك المتهم طريق المراوغة في البداية، محاولاً نسج رواية وهمية عن سيارة تجارية خطفت الطفلة من الشارع. غير أن تماسك خيوط التحقيق وتضييق الخناق عليه أجبراه على الانهيار والاعتراف بما لا يصدقه عقله البشري، إذ تبين أنه استدرج الضحية إلى داخل مسكنه، وباغتها من الخلف بحبل لفه حول رقبتها الغضة، ضاغطاً بقدميه حتى سلبها أنفاسها الأخيرة.
ولم يتوقف كابوس الجريمة عند هذا الحد، بل عمد الجاني إلى لف الجثة بقطعة قماش، ونقلها متخفياً عبر الجدار ليلقي بها فوق سطح البيت المجاور. والأدهى من ذلك، أنه عاد لارتداء قناع البراءة، منضمّاً إلى صفوف الجيران المكلومين وهم يبحثون عن الطفلة المفقودة، محاولاً تضليل العدالة وإبعاد الشبهات عن يديه الملطختين بالدماء.
واليوم، وبينما يخضع الجاني لمسار العدالة داخل أروقة القضاء التونسي في جريمة وُصفت بالعمد مع سابقية القصد، يترك هذا الرحيل القاسي ندبة عميقة في روح الحي، وتساؤلات موجعة عن خبايا الوجوه المألوفة وأقنعتها الخفية.

In the higher Omran neighborhood of the Tunisian capital, residents woke up to a nightmare that was unforeseen, turning the joyful sounds of play into a complete tragedy.
The story began with small steps toward the street after breakfast, where the little girl asked her mother for permission to join her peers, passing by to take a headphone charger from their young neighbor known as “Ruby,” who was accustomed to playing with the children and was a familiar part of the area’s details. But the hours of fun turned into complete silence, as the mother who went out to check on her daughter found no trace of her, and at the same time noticed Ruby’s absence from everyone’s sight.
The children’s testimonies ignited the spark of concern, confirming that their classmate had left with the mentioned neighbor. With the authorities notified, a grueling search began around the neighborhood, ending with the initial shock of finding the lifeless body of the girl on the roof of a neighboring house, while security forces had their hands on the main suspect.
Inside the interrogation rooms, the accused initially took the path of evasion, attempting to weave a fictional story about a commercial vehicle that had kidnapped the girl from the street. However, the tightening of the investigation’s threads and the pressure on him forced him to collapse and confess to what his human mind could not believe, as it became clear that he had lured the victim into his home, ambushing her from behind with a rope he wrapped around her tender neck, pressing with his feet until he took her last breaths.
The nightmare of the crime did not stop there; the perpetrator wrapped the body in a piece of cloth and stealthily moved it over the wall to throw it onto the roof of the neighboring house. Worse still, he returned to don the mask of innocence, joining the grieving neighbors as they searched for the missing girl, attempting to mislead justice and divert suspicion from his blood-stained hands.
Today, as the perpetrator undergoes the course of justice within the corridors of the Tunisian judiciary in a crime described as premeditated murder, this harsh departure leaves a deep scar in the soul of the neighborhood, raising painful questions about the hidden depths of familiar faces and their concealed masks.
