It is expected that the Union defender Ahmed Shrahili will return to participate in matches with his team in the Saudi Pro League, the King’s Cup, and the AFC Champions League after a break due to FIFA days, which will start on (Monday) November 9 and continue until Tuesday the 17th of the same month. He will join the team’s training sessions at the end of next week after completing his rehabilitation program.
The Union Club announced in early July that Ahmed Shrahili had sustained an injury consisting of a tear in the tendon of the peroneal muscle in his left ankle. The player underwent surgery in Porto, Portugal, under the supervision of ankle surgery consultant Dr. Nuno Brito, and he has been involved in a treatment and rehabilitation program.
On another note, it has been decided that the Union team will hold a preparatory camp in Marbella, Spain, under the supervision of coach Jens Wissing during the break from local and continental competitions due to the hosting of the AFC Asian Cup 2027 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from January 7 to February 5, 2027. Some members of the administrative staff conducted a field visit in early October to assess the readiness of the external camp location, review the stadiums and facilities, and complete the arrangements for the team’s preparatory program during the break to maintain the players’ fitness and prepare them technically to continue the current season’s competitions.
