التقى الأمير فيصل بن فرحان بن عبدالله وزير الخارجية، وزير خارجية الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية السيد ماركو روبيو، وذلك على هامش اجتماع وزراء خارجية دول مجموعة العشرين (G20) المنعقد بمدينة أتلانتا في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.
وتناول اللقاء العلاقات الإستراتيجية التي تجمع المملكة والولايات المتحدة، وسبل تطوير التعاون المشترك في المجالات ذات الأولوية، إلى جانب تبادل وجهات النظر بشأن القضايا الإقليمية الراهنة، والجهود المبذولة للتعامل مع التحديات التي تشهدها المنطقة.
عقب اللقاء، وقّع الجانبان عقد مشاركة الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية في معرض إكسبو الدولي 2030 الرياض، بصفة «مشارك رسمي»، بما يمنح الجانبين إطاراً رسمياً للمضي قدماً في استعداداتهما للمعرض، وتجسيداً لحرص إكسبو 2030 الرياض على ترسيخ التعاون الدولي وتعزيز الشراكات مع الدول المشاركة.
حضر اللقاء الأميرة ريما بنت بندر بن سلطان سفيرة خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with the United States Secretary of State, Mr. Marco Rubio, on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in Atlanta, USA.
The meeting discussed the strategic relations between the Kingdom and the United States, ways to enhance joint cooperation in priority areas, as well as exchanging views on current regional issues and the efforts being made to address the challenges facing the region.
Following the meeting, both sides signed a contract for the participation of the United States in the Expo 2030 Riyadh as an “official participant,” which provides both sides with a formal framework to move forward in their preparations for the expo, reflecting Expo 2030 Riyadh’s commitment to establishing international cooperation and enhancing partnerships with participating countries.
Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the United States, attended the meeting.
