Al-Khulood player Shakeel Benas praised the idea of the tournament that brings together clubs from the Middle East during his attendance as a guest at the Kings League final, confirming that the diversity of its systems and rules gives it a different character from traditional futsal and increases the enjoyment of competition.
Shakeel said in an interview with “Okaz”: “I think it’s a very beautiful idea, especially with the participation of clubs from the Middle East. Additionally, the presence of different challenges, such as one-on-one and two-on-two matches, and counting some goals as two points, makes the tournament more exciting and enjoyable, which is what makes me enjoy it even more.”
Regarding the team he supports in the tournament, he explained: “I might lean a little towards the team that wears the white color because one of my teammate’s friends plays for them, and that’s why I came to watch and support them.”
In discussing the match between Al-Khulood and Al-Nasr, which ended with a score of 5-3, he said: “It was a beautiful match, and Al-Nasr showed the quality that their players possess. I believe we remained in the game until the 60th minute, but in the end, the quality of Al-Nasr’s players decided the match in their favor.”
Regarding his expectations for the identity of the league champion, Shakeel confirmed that he does not concern himself with the calculations of competitors, adding: “I don’t know who will win the league, and I don’t want to think about that right now. My focus is on my team, Al-Khulood, and our goal is to achieve as many victories as possible, and we will see in the end who will be able to clinch the title.”
