The Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani appointed Muzna Mamdouh Al-Atrash today (Monday) as an advisor for peace affairs. The Syrian news agency “SANA” reported that Al-Atrash hails from the Sweida Governorate in southern Syria, was born in 1987, and has experience in community, humanitarian, and media work.
Al-Atrash’s appointment comes at a time when the Syrian authorities are facing complex issues related to enhancing internal stability, addressing the effects of the war, and rebuilding institutions and relationships with the international community.
From Art to Foreign Affairs
According to the biography published by “SANA,” Al-Atrash holds a degree from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, Department of Dramatic Criticism, along with a diploma in cinematic sciences and a bachelor’s degree in media from New Life University. Issues of community reconciliation and the return of refugees and displaced persons are prominent, alongside efforts for reconstruction and enhancing stability in various regions.
Since the fall of Bashar Al-Assad’s regime in December 2024, the new Syrian authorities have begun reorganizing several state institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which has seen appointments and a redistribution of responsibilities in various political and diplomatic files.
Al-Shaibani has been leading Syrian diplomatic efforts since taking office in December 2024, focusing on rebuilding foreign relations and expanding communication with Arab countries and the international community.
