أصدر مجلس إدارة المجلس الصحي السعودي قرارًا بتعيين الدكتور خالد بن محمد حموي مديرًا عامًا للمركز السعودي لزراعة الأعضاء.
ويُعد الدكتور حموي من الكفاءات الوطنية البارزة والخبرات المتميزة في المجال الطبي والإداري؛ حيث عمل نائبًا للمدير التنفيذي للتميز السريري وتقديم الرعاية الصحية في التجمع الصحي الأول بالشرقية، وحصل على البورد الأمريكي في الباطنة والكلى، والزمالة الأمريكية لأمراض الكلى، إضافة إلى الزمالة الأمريكية للمديرين التنفيذيين في القطاع الصحي.
وتقلّد عدة مناصب قيادية وطبية بارزة، منها مدير مركز زراعة الأعضاء والمدير الطبي المشارك بمستشفى الملك فهد التخصصي بالدمام (2012 – 2018م)، والمدير الطبي لبرنامج زراعة البنكرياس واستشاري زراعة الكلى بمستشفى الملك فيصل التخصصي، إلى جانب عمله مديرًا طبيًا لبرنامج زراعة البنكرياس في “مايو كلينيك” بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية (2008 – 2012م)، وأثرى السجل العلمي بأكثر من 20 بحثًا نُشرت في مجلات عالمية ومشاركات في تأليف عدة كتب مرجعية تخصصية.
The Board of Directors of the Saudi Health Council has issued a decision to appoint Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Hamwi as the General Director of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation.
Dr. Hamwi is considered one of the prominent national competencies and distinguished experiences in the medical and administrative fields; he served as the Deputy Executive Director for Clinical Excellence and Healthcare Delivery at the First Health Cluster in the Eastern Province, and he holds the American Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, as well as the American Fellowship in Nephrology, in addition to the American Fellowship for Executives in the Health Sector.
He has held several prominent leadership and medical positions, including Director of the Organ Transplantation Center and Associate Medical Director at King Fahd Specialist Hospital in Dammam (2012 – 2018), Medical Director of the Pancreas Transplant Program and Kidney Transplant Consultant at King Faisal Specialist Hospital, along with serving as the Medical Director of the Pancreas Transplant Program at the Mayo Clinic in the United States (2008 – 2012). He has enriched the scientific record with more than 20 research papers published in international journals and contributions to the authorship of several specialized reference books.
