The artist Abadi Al-Jawhar recalled his memories with the works of the late musician Mohammed Abdul Wahab, revealing to “Okaz” that he has an old recording of the song “Min Ghair Leh” among his private musical collections, reminiscing about performing the song in his voice during the tribute to Abdul Wahab at the Opera Festival.
His comments came in response to a question from “Okaz” regarding whether he owns a “master” copy of the song, and the possibility of releasing it in the future, as he confirmed that he has an old recording of the work, but did not decide on the possibility of reintroducing or reissuing it again.
On the Mohammed Abdu arena, as part of the Riyadh Season events, Al-Jawhar transported his audience back to the memory of authentic music, in a musical evening that evoked moments from his artistic journey, amidst notable interaction with his old songs, which the audience sang along to, in a scene that reflected their continued presence in the musical memory.
The evening also featured the participation of the artist Natasha, who performed a musical segment that received audience interaction, before she joined Al-Jawhar for a duet of the song “Qalu Tara,” amidst the applause of the audience.
In a notable turn of events, the evening lacked the solo oud performance, which Al-Jawhar is accustomed to presenting at his concerts, as he this time only accompanied his singing on the instrument that has been associated with his name throughout his career, without dedicating a separate segment to showcase his musical skills.
The evening combined the audience’s nostalgia for Al-Jawhar’s old songs, and his musical presence with Natasha, while his discussion with “Okaz” about the record “Min Ghair Leh” opened a window onto his musical collections and memories with the legacy of Mohammed Abdul Wahab.
