شدد وزير الخارجية المصري الدكتور بدر عبدالعاطي على موقف مصر الثابت والداعم لوحدة وسيادة وسلامة الأراضي الصومالية، ورفض مصر إنشاء كيانات موازية خارج الأطر القانونية المعترف بها دولياً، مندداً بالاعتراف الإسرائيلي الأحادي بما يسمى أرض الصومال، باعتباره مخالفاً للقانون الدولي، وينتهك سيادة ووحدة الأراضي الصومالية، ويقوض أسس الاستقرار في منطقة القرن الأفريقي.
وحذر عبدالعاطي، خلال استقبال نظيره الصومالي عبدالسلام عبدي علي، اليوم (الخميس)، من خطورة التصعيد الذي من شأنه زعزعة أمن واستقرار المنطقة والبحر الأحمر، مؤكداً دعم مصر للجهود الدولية الرامية إلى تحقيق الأمن والاستقرار والتنمية في الصومال، وأهمية العمل مع الشركاء الدوليين لحشد تمويل كافٍ ومستدام لبعثة الاتحاد الأفريقي للدعم والاستقرار في الصومال، بما يمكنها من الاضطلاع بمهماتها على النحو المأمول.
وبحسب بيان صادر عن وزارة الخارجية، جدد الوزير عبدالعاطي التأكيد على التزام مصر بمواصلة دعم جهود بناء مؤسسات الدولة الصومالية وتعزيز قدراتها في مجال إرساء الأمن والاستقرار، لاسيما في مواجهة تحديات الإرهاب والتطرف، منوهاً بأهمية تعظيم الاستفادة من البرامج التدريبية التي تقدمها المؤسسات الوطنية، والوكالة المصرية للشراكة من أجل التنمية ومركز القاهرة الدولي لتسوية النزاعات وحفظ وبناء السلام، بما يسهم في دعم الكوادر الوطنية وتعزيز الاستقرار والأمن، مؤكداً أهمية تنسيق الجهود الإقليمية والدولية للتصدي لهذه الظواهر وتجفيف منابعها.
كما تبادل الوزيران الآراء حول سبل إرساء الاستقرار والأمن والسلام وتحقيق التنمية في القارة الأفريقية والتحضير لجلسة مجلس السلم والأمن التابع للاتحاد الأفريقي المقرر عقدها تحت الرئاسة المصرية الحالية للمجلس حول تطورات الأوضاع بالصومال، واتفقا على أهمية مواصلة التنسيق والتشاور في الإطارين الثنائي ومتعدد الأطراف، لاسيما مع قرب انعقاد قمة الاتحاد الأفريقي الأسبوع القادم، وعضوية الصومال بمجلس الأمن الدولي بما يحقق المصالح المشتركة للبلدين والشعبين الصديقين.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty emphasized Egypt’s firm and supportive stance on the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Somalia, rejecting Egypt’s establishment of parallel entities outside internationally recognized legal frameworks. He condemned the unilateral Israeli recognition of what is called Somaliland, considering it a violation of international law, undermining the sovereignty and unity of Somali territories, and compromising the foundations of stability in the Horn of Africa.
During his meeting with his Somali counterpart Abdisalam Abdalla Ali today (Thursday), Abdel-Aty warned of the dangers of escalation that could destabilize the security and stability of the region and the Red Sea. He reaffirmed Egypt’s support for international efforts aimed at achieving security, stability, and development in Somalia, and the importance of working with international partners to mobilize sufficient and sustainable funding for the African Union mission for support and stability in Somalia, enabling it to carry out its missions as hoped.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Abdel-Aty reiterated Egypt’s commitment to continue supporting efforts to build Somali state institutions and enhance their capabilities in establishing security and stability, especially in facing the challenges of terrorism and extremism. He highlighted the importance of maximizing the benefits from training programs offered by national institutions, the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development, and the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping, and Peacebuilding, which contribute to supporting national cadres and enhancing stability and security. He emphasized the importance of coordinating regional and international efforts to address these phenomena and dry up their sources.
The two ministers also exchanged views on ways to establish stability, security, and peace and achieve development on the African continent, and to prepare for the upcoming session of the African Union Peace and Security Council, scheduled to be held under Egypt’s current presidency of the council regarding developments in Somalia. They agreed on the importance of continuing coordination and consultation within both bilateral and multilateral frameworks, especially with the upcoming African Union summit next week, and Somalia’s membership in the United Nations Security Council, which serves the common interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples.
