تتجدد ردود أفعال المثقفين على تكرار أسماء المدعوين في فعاليات ومناسبات ثقافية وأدبية داخل الوطن وخارجه، وفي الوقت الذي يتذمر البعض من إيثار أسماء على أسماء، يتردد البعض في توجيه اتهام لجهات الاختيار، وإن أُثر عن الطبيعة البشرية، روح الانتقام، وتصفية الحسابات، ممن يتولى مسؤولية ليس أهلاً لها.
ويؤكد الشاعر أحمد آل مجثِّل، أن آلية اختيار أسماء المشاركين داخل الوطن وخارجه، ليست محكومة بإطار مُعلن، وكأن الدعوات محصورة بين مجموعة تحضر بحكم أنها من «الشّلة» أو «الصحبة» الموثقة أسماؤهم في أدراج موجهي الدعوات. وقال آل مجثل: لو عدنا إلى مفهوم الحظوة في دعوة من يستحق أو من لا يستحق خصوصاً من نراهم في المشهد الثقافي عبر تغريداتهم في وسائل التواصل، لبات الأمر مكشوفاً لعامة المتابعين.
ويؤكد أن المدعوّين إلى معرضَي الكتاب في الرياض وجُدة، هم الأسماء ذاتها في المحاضرات والندوات والأمسيات، سواء في إدارة فعالياتها أو المشاركة مباشرة في تقديمها، لافتاً إلى أن «ثلاثة أو أربعة من الأسماء المدعوّة شاركت في 13 فعالية من برنامج معرض الرياض لوحده». وأضاف: يتكرر الوضع ذاته ولو بنسبةٍ أقلّ في معرض جدة، ولو تم توسيع الدائرة لشارك 13 اسماً جديداً بدلاً من تدوير المشاركة بين الأسماء الأربعة، مشيراً إلى حق المتابع والمثقف بمعرفة آلية الاختيار في دعوة الحضور والمشاركة في تلك المناسبات لتوخي الشفافية والعدالة، ونشر جدول يحدد ويجدد الأسماء وتنوعها المناطقي وتنوعها الثقافي، تلافياً للذاتيّة وللحد من الحظوات والهبات و«الشرهات» و«شختك بختك».
ودعا آل مجثل إلى الاستعانة بالكاتب البيبليوغرافي خالد اليوسف ليزوّد الجهات بـ«داتا» الأدباء في المملكة.
ويرى الشاعر حسن المتعب، أنّ الشلليّة الثقافيّة تطوّرت بعدما كانت محصورة في المجالس و«القهاوي»، وانتقلت للجمعيات وبعض الهيئات التي لا تخرج إلا القريب منها بشروط معينة. وأوضح المتعب أنّ العضوية في المؤسسات لا تشفع للأديب، إضافة إلى أنّ بعض المؤسسات تشترط العضوية للمشاركة في المسابقات.
وتساءل: هل على الأديب أن يقدم تنازلاً ما للتقرب من هذا الشخص الفلاني أم لا؟ وأضاف المتعب: عن الأثر فكما تشاهد، أُصبنا بالملل الشعري والروائي بسبب هذا التكرار.
ويذهب الروائي جابر مدخلي إلى أن الأدباء السعوديين، أصل في الحركة الثقافية العربية المحافظة فكرياً، وتأثيرهم تجاوز مستواه الإقليمي، وتطلّع إلى التعامل مع قوائم الأدباء على أنهم الخيار المعتدل الأبرز على الساحة العربية، باستثناء من أبطن في نفسه السوء، أو انتمى لجهات خفية لا يمكننا إثباتها أو محاسبته عليها.
وعدّ الأحق بالمشاركة الثقافية والمنصات السعودية الداخلية أو الخارجية، ما تماهى ويتماشى مع مستهدفات الدولة ومؤسساتها، للحفاظ على الأمن الثقافي بسياسات حمائية في مقدمتها تقوية الانتماء الدائم.
ولفت مدخلي إلى أنّ إظهار جميع المثقفين وإبراز تجاربهم خطوة يجب أن تخدمها وتسهلها جميع الجهات ذات الصلة؛ الأمنية، أو الرقابية، أو الثقافية، لا سيما في ظل ارتقاء منسوب الوعي لدى المتلقي، وتلاشى كلياً ذلك التأثير والخطر القديم الذي كان حصراً على أسماء هي التي يمكن القول إنها شوهت المشهد الثقافي وأضرّت به.
وطالب مدخلي بتوسيع الفرص للجميع، كون الإدانة الثقافية ستظهر آثارها، لافتاً إلى ضرورة حجب الثقافي المسيء، إلا أن الأهم ألا يكون قراراً ذاتياً أو فردياً إذ إنّ أسماء عدة ربما وقعت في محاذير دون أن تعي أو توجه أو يشار إليها بما وقعت فيه. وعدّ تكرار الشخصيات ذاتها في المحافل والبرامج الثقافية موتاً بطيئاً للبرامج ذاتها، وانجراراً نحو تسويق الشخصية بدلاً من تسويق ثقافة المشهد السعودي المتطور في شتى صنوف الأدب والمعارف، مضيفاً: ولو أن التكرار ليس عيباً ولا جريمة إلا أنه يخلق جوّاً من الكآبة والرتابة، فالمتلقي ينتظر باستمرار التعرف على أسماء جديدة، ووجوه جديدة، ورؤى متصالحة مع حاضر الأجيال وأفكارهم ومستقبلهم الحافل، ولا ينقصهم سوى وضعهم أمام الفرص، ومنحهم المساحات التي تمكّن المشاهدين من رؤيتهم من خلالها.
ويؤكد الشاعر حسين الزيداني، أنه ليس غريباً أن يتردد هذا التساؤل المُلحّ بين الأدباء والمثقفين، في ظل ما يشهده الواقع، الذي لا يمكن تفسيره بغير الاستبعاد أو الإقصاء لأسماء عُرفت من خلال أثرها الثقافي، ولا يمكن تجاهل نتاجها الأدبي والإبداعي، موضحاً أن الحال يشير إلى أن غالب الدعوات للمؤتمرات والفعاليات لا تُمنح وفق معايير تعتمد الأحقية والكفاءة والعدالة في توزيع الفرص، بل تكون في الأغلب انعكاساً للعلاقات الشخصية ومدى القرب والبعد والرضى والسخط، ما يترك أثراً موجعاً، يلقي بظلاله على ضعف المشهد الثقافي، وعدم ازدهاره ومواكبته لتطلعات القائمين عليه. وتطلّع للتعامل مع المثقفين والمثقفات عبر معايير واضحة تضمن الشفافية وتكافؤ الفرص، خصوصاً في هذه المرحلة المفصلية في مشهدنا الثقافي.
رئيس جمعية الأدب: لسنا وحدنا المخولين بالترشيح.. والمسوحات فاصلة
أوضح رئيس جمعية الأدب المهنية الدكتور حسن النعمي، أن في جمعية الأدب المهنية لجنة دائمة -حسب المسمى النظامي- (لجنة الترشيحات) ولها أنظمتها وقوانينها من حيث التشكيل وآلية العمل، وهذه اللجنة تمارس مهماتها والأدوار المناطة إليها على أكمل وجه.
وعن الترشيحات، أكد النعمي أنها تعتمد على طبيعة المشروع، والجهة المالكة للمشروع، وهل هذه الجهة لجأت للجمعية باعتبارها جهة استشارية للمشروع أم لا. وأضاف: إن كانت الجمعية هي الجهة الاستشارية لهذا المشروع، فهناك آلية عمل مطبقة لدينا في الجمعية بحيث ترشح اللجنة الأسماء -حسب المجالات والتخصصات- ويُرفع بالتوصيات إلى الجهة المالكة للمشروع، وهنا يتوقف دورنا سواء تم الأخذ بترشيحاتنا أم لا.
وعن المشاريع التي تملكها الجمعية وتحتاج إلى ترشيحات، أكد أنه يتم -أيضاً- اللجوء لهذه اللجنة، وترشّح من تراه مناسباً للمهمة من أعضاء الجمعية أياً كان نوع العضوية التي يمتلكها العضو، دون إهمال -بطبيعة الحال- لطبيعة المشروع وللمجالات الإبداعية للعضو المرشح، ليأتي دور المسوحات النظامية وما يرافقها من موافقات وإجراءات نظامية.
وبخصوص تكرار الأسماء، قال: لسنا الجهة الوحيدة التي تقوم بالترشيح، فهناك جهات عدة تمتلك مشاريع، وترشح لمشاريعها من تراه مناسباً لخدمة مشروعها.
ولفت إلى أنه في ما يتعلق بقواعد البيانات، فإن جمعية الأدب المهنية عملت جنباً إلى جنب مع وزارة الثقافة في المشروع التأسيسي مشروع «حصر وتصنيف وتقييم المهنيين في القطاع الأدبي»، وعملت الجمعية -وما زالت تعمل- على عكس مخرجات المشروع على القطاع ومهنيي القطاع.
The reactions of intellectuals are renewed regarding the repetition of names of invitees at cultural and literary events both inside and outside the country. While some complain about the preference given to certain names over others, others hesitate to direct accusations at the selection bodies. It is said that human nature carries a spirit of revenge and settling scores, especially among those who hold responsibilities they are not suited for.
The poet Ahmed Al-Majthil confirms that the mechanism for selecting participants’ names, both domestically and internationally, is not governed by a declared framework, as if the invitations are limited to a group that attends simply because they are part of the “crew” or “circle,” whose names are documented in the drawers of those directing the invitations. Al-Majthil stated: If we return to the concept of privilege in inviting those who deserve it or those who do not, especially those we see in the cultural scene through their tweets on social media, the matter would become clear to the general followers.
He emphasizes that the invitees to the book fairs in Riyadh and Jeddah are the same names appearing in lectures, seminars, and evenings, whether in managing these events or participating directly in presenting them. He pointed out that “three or four of the invited names participated in 13 events from the Riyadh fair program alone.” He added: The same situation is repeated, albeit to a lesser extent, at the Jeddah fair. If the circle were expanded, 13 new names could participate instead of rotating participation among the same four names, indicating the right of followers and intellectuals to know the selection mechanism for inviting attendance and participation in those events to ensure transparency and fairness, and to publish a schedule that specifies and renews the names and their regional and cultural diversity, avoiding subjectivity and limiting privileges, gifts, and the “luck of the draw.”
Al-Majthil called for the assistance of bibliographer Khalid Al-Yousef to provide the authorities with a “data” set of writers in the Kingdom.
Poet Hassan Al-Mut’ab sees that cultural cliques have evolved from being confined to councils and “cafés” to associations and some bodies that only allow those close to them under certain conditions. Al-Mut’ab clarified that membership in institutions does not guarantee the writer’s participation, and that some institutions require membership to participate in competitions.
He questioned: Does the writer have to make some concessions to get closer to a certain person or not? Al-Mut’ab added: As for the impact, as you can see, we have been afflicted with poetic and narrative boredom due to this repetition.
Novelist Jabir Makhli believes that Saudi writers are a cornerstone in the intellectually conservative Arab cultural movement, and their influence has surpassed the regional level. He looks forward to treating lists of writers as the most prominent moderate choice in the Arab arena, except for those who harbor ill intentions or belong to hidden entities that we cannot prove or hold accountable.
He considered that those most deserving of cultural participation in Saudi platforms, whether domestic or international, are those who align with the state’s objectives and its institutions, to maintain cultural security through protective policies, foremost among which is strengthening permanent belonging.
Makhli pointed out that showcasing all intellectuals and highlighting their experiences is a step that all relevant bodies—security, regulatory, or cultural—should facilitate, especially in light of the rising awareness among audiences, and the complete fading of the old influence and danger that was limited to names that can be said to have distorted the cultural scene and harmed it.
Makhli called for expanding opportunities for everyone, as cultural condemnation will show its effects, noting the necessity of blocking harmful cultural elements. However, the most important thing is that it should not be a personal or individual decision, as several names may have fallen into pitfalls without realizing it or being directed or pointed out for what they have fallen into. He considered the repetition of the same personalities in cultural forums and programs to be a slow death for the programs themselves, and a drift towards marketing the personality instead of marketing the culture of the evolving Saudi scene across various forms of literature and knowledge, adding: While repetition is neither a flaw nor a crime, it creates an atmosphere of gloom and monotony. The audience constantly awaits the introduction of new names, new faces, and perspectives that resonate with the present of generations and their ideas and bright future. They only lack being placed in front of opportunities and given the spaces that enable viewers to see them through.
Poet Hussein Al-Zaidani confirms that it is not strange for this pressing question to be repeated among writers and intellectuals, given the reality that cannot be explained other than by the exclusion or marginalization of names known for their cultural impact, and whose literary and creative output cannot be ignored. He clarified that the situation indicates that most invitations to conferences and events are not granted based on criteria that depend on merit, competence, and fairness in distributing opportunities, but are often a reflection of personal relationships and the degree of closeness, distance, satisfaction, and dissatisfaction, leaving a painful impact that casts a shadow over the weakness of the cultural scene and its failure to flourish and keep pace with the aspirations of those in charge. He looks forward to dealing with intellectuals through clear criteria that ensure transparency and equal opportunities, especially in this pivotal phase of our cultural scene.
President of the Literature Association: We are not the only ones authorized to nominate… and surveys are decisive
The President of the Professional Literature Association, Dr. Hassan Al-Naimi, clarified that there is a permanent committee in the Professional Literature Association—according to the official title—(the Nominations Committee) which has its own regulations and laws regarding its formation and working mechanism. This committee carries out its tasks and the roles assigned to it to the fullest.
Regarding nominations, Al-Naimi confirmed that they depend on the nature of the project and the entity owning the project, and whether this entity has approached the association as a consulting body for the project or not. He added: If the association is the consulting body for this project, there is a working mechanism applied in our association whereby the committee nominates names—according to fields and specialties—and recommendations are submitted to the entity owning the project. Here, our role stops, whether our nominations are accepted or not.
Regarding the projects owned by the association that require nominations, he confirmed that this committee is also consulted, and it nominates whoever it sees fit for the task from the association’s members, regardless of the type of membership the member holds, without neglecting—of course—the nature of the project and the creative fields of the nominated member, leading to the role of systematic surveys and the accompanying approvals and regulatory procedures.
Concerning the repetition of names, he said: We are not the only entity that conducts nominations; there are several entities that own projects and nominate those they see fit to serve their project.
He pointed out that regarding databases, the Professional Literature Association has worked alongside the Ministry of Culture on the foundational project “Inventory, Classification, and Evaluation of Professionals in the Literary Sector,” and the association has been—and continues to be—working to reflect the outputs of the project on the sector and its professionals.
