كشف الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي أن الولايات المتحدة منحت أوكرانيا وروسيا مهلة حتى يونيو القادم للتوصل إلى اتفاق ينهي الحرب المستمرة منذ نحو 4 سنوات، فيما أجبرت الضربات الروسية على البنية التحتية للطاقة محطات الطاقة النووية الأوكرانية على خفض إنتاجها، بحسب ما أوردت وكالة «أسوشيتد برس».
ماذا بعد انتهاء المهلة ؟
وقال زيلينسكي للصحفيين: في حال عدم الالتزام بالمهلة المحددة في يونيو المقبل، فمن المرجح أن تمارس إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترمب ضغوطاً على الطرفين للالتزام بها.
وأضاف أن الأمريكيين يقترحون على الطرفين إنهاء الحرب بحلول بداية هذا الصيف، مرجحاً أن يمارسوا ضغوطاً عليهما وفقاً لهذا الجدول الزمني تحديداً.
ولفت زيلينسكي إلى أن الولايات المتحدة اقترحت عقد الجولة القادمة من المحادثات الثلاثية الأسبوع القادم، في ميامي. وأضاف: «لقد أكدنا مشاركتنا».
وأفصح أن روسيا قدمت للولايات المتحدة مقترحاً اقتصادياً بقيمة 12 تريليون دولار، أطلق عليه اسم «حزمة ديميترييف» نسبةً إلى المبعوث الروسي كيريل ديميترييف. وتُعدّ الاتفاقيات الاقتصادية الثنائية مع الولايات المتحدة جزءاً من عملية التفاوض الأوسع.
لا تقدم في المحادثات الأخيرة
وجاء كشف الموعد النهائي الأخير، عقب محادثات ثلاثية برعاية أمريكية، لم تُسفر عن أي تقدم يُذكر، إذ يتمسك الطرفان المتحاربان بمطالب متناقضة. وتضغط روسيا على أوكرانيا للانسحاب من دونباس، حيث لا يزال القتال محتدماً، وهو شرط ترفضه كييف رفضاً قاطعاً.
وقال زيلينسكي: “لا تزال القضايا الشائكة على حالها، وأوكرانيا أكدت مجدداً موقفها من قضية دونباس. إن مبدأ (نقف حيث نقف) هو النموذج الأكثر عدلاً وموثوقية لوقف إطلاق النار اليوم، في رأينا”. وأكد مجدداً أن أكثر المواضيع تعقيداً ستُناقش في اجتماع ثلاثي بين القادة.
وأضاف أنه لم يتم التوصل إلى أي أرضية مشتركة بشأن إدارة محطة زابوروجيا النووية التي تسيطر عليها روسيا، وأعرب عن تشككه في اقتراح أمريكي بتحويل منطقة دونباس، التي تطمع بها روسيا، إلى منطقة اقتصادية حرة كحل وسط.
ولفت إلى أن الولايات المتحدة اقترحت مجدداً وقفاً لإطلاق النار يحظر استهداف البنية التحتية للطاقة. وأكد أن أوكرانيا مستعدة للالتزام بهذا الوقف إذا التزمت روسيا به؛ لكنه أضاف أن موسكو عندما وافقت سابقاً على وقف إطلاق نار لمدة أسبوع اقترحته الولايات المتحدة، تم انتهاكه بعد 4 أيام فقط.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that the United States has given Ukraine and Russia a deadline until next June to reach an agreement to end the war that has been ongoing for nearly 4 years, while Russian strikes on energy infrastructure have forced Ukrainian nuclear power plants to reduce their output, according to the Associated Press.
What happens after the deadline?
Zelensky told reporters that if the deadline set for next June is not adhered to, it is likely that the administration of President Donald Trump will exert pressure on both sides to comply.
He added that the Americans are proposing to both parties to end the war by the beginning of this summer, suggesting that they will apply pressure on them according to this specific timeline.
Zelensky pointed out that the United States has proposed to hold the next round of trilateral talks next week in Miami. He added, “We have confirmed our participation.”
He disclosed that Russia has presented the United States with an economic proposal worth $12 trillion, dubbed the “Dmitriev Package,” named after Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev. The bilateral economic agreements with the United States are part of the broader negotiation process.
No progress in recent talks
The revelation of the latest deadline came after trilateral talks sponsored by the United States, which did not yield any significant progress, as both warring parties cling to conflicting demands. Russia is pressuring Ukraine to withdraw from Donbas, where fighting is still intense, a condition that Kyiv firmly rejects.
Zelensky stated, “The contentious issues remain unchanged, and Ukraine has reaffirmed its position on the Donbas issue. The principle of ‘we stand where we stand’ is the most just and reliable model for a ceasefire today, in our opinion.” He reiterated that the most complicated topics will be discussed in a trilateral meeting among the leaders.
He added that no common ground has been reached regarding the management of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, which is controlled by Russia, and expressed skepticism about a U.S. proposal to turn the Donbas region, which Russia covets, into a free economic zone as a compromise.
He noted that the United States has once again proposed a ceasefire that prohibits targeting energy infrastructure. He confirmed that Ukraine is ready to adhere to this ceasefire if Russia commits to it; however, he added that when Moscow previously agreed to a week-long ceasefire proposed by the United States, it was violated after only 4 days.
