The Saudi Union for Sports Culture, in collaboration with Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, organized the first international conference and exhibition for sports culture, in an experience that can be described as a qualitative step in the path of Saudi sports awareness, and a real shift in dealing with sports as a comprehensive societal culture, not just a competitive activity or a fleeting seasonal event. This conference aimed to place sports culture in its broader context, as a tool for development, a contributor to quality of life, and a field of knowledge that deserves scientific discussion and institutional planning.
Despite the novelty of the Saudi Union for Sports Culture, the success achieved was not limited to the size of attendance or the diversity of participation, but rather in the nature of the discussions that transcended traditional questions to deeper approaches, examining the relationship between sports and culture, tourism, entertainment, media, and economics, and providing a comprehensive vision that aligns with the major transformations taking place in the Kingdom under Vision 2030. The conference did not merely showcase experiences; it contributed to redefining the concept of sports culture as a conscious practice, a societal behavior, and an educational and specialized field.
The conference, through the important role played by Imam University and the care of Professor Ahmed bin Salem Al-Amri, managed to bridge the academic dimension and the practical dimension, through scientific sessions, workshops, and training courses, alongside the accompanying exhibition that reflected the development of the sports industry and its connection to technology and innovation. Perhaps one of the most prominent outcomes of the conference is that it reinstated the human and social dimension in sports, and solidified the idea that sports is a common language, capable of building awareness, enhancing belonging, and creating impact, whenever it is managed with a conscious cultural mindset. Additionally, the accompanying honors and community participation confirmed that sports culture is not exclusive to the elite, but rather a national project open to everyone.
In conclusion, the first international conference and exhibition for sports culture was not just a fleeting event, but rather the establishment of a new phase of sports thinking, a phase in which sports are viewed as a cultural and knowledge value, and as a platform for dialogue, development, and future-making. This success is credited to the Saudi Union for Sports Culture, under the leadership of Professor Suleiman bin Omar Al-Jaloud, who has the ability to establish cumulative work that is expected to yield broader initiatives and deeper projects in a Saudi sports scene confidently heading towards maturity and leadership.
