أكدت المتحدثة باسم البيت الأبيض، اليوم (الأربعاء)، أن هناك العديد من الأسباب والحجج التي يمكن طرحها لتبرير توجيه ضربة أمريكية ضد إيران، موضحة أن الرئيس دونالد ترمب كان دائماً واضحاً في ما يتعلق بإيران أو بأي دولة أخرى حول العالم.
وقالت المتحدثة: «الدبلوماسية هي خيار الرئيس ترمب الأول دائماً، وسيكون من الحكمة جداً أن تبادر إيران إلى إبرام اتفاق مع هذه الإدارة».
هدوء دبلوماسي
بدورها قالت وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية إنها لن تستبق الأحداث في ما يتعلق بالمحادثات الجارية مع إيران، موضحة أن الجانب الإيراني يُبدي رغبة في التوصل إلى اتفاق.
وقال متحدث باسم الوزارة: القوات الأمريكية المنتشرة في المنطقة موجودة لحماية المصالح الأمريكية، موضحاً أن الرئيس ترمب يسعى إلى تحقيق السلام مع إيران.
ودافع المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية تومي بيغوت خلال مقابلة تلفزيونية عن إستراتيجية ترمب في المفاوضات مع طهران، مشدداً بالقول: «الرئيس يعني ما يقوله»، مضيفاً أن ذلك ظهر جلياً من خلال عملية «ميدنايت هامر».
استعداد إيراني
أظهرت صور أقمار اصطناعية أن إيران انشأت درعاً خرسانية فوق منشأة جديدة داخل موقع عسكري، وصفه خبراء بـ«الحسّاس»، وأخفتها تحت التربة، كما أظهرت أن إيران دفنت مداخل أنفاق في موقع نووي قصفته الولايات المتحدة خلال الحرب التي استمرت 12 يوماً بين إسرائيل وإيران العام الماضي، وحصنت مداخل الأنفاق بالقرب من موقع آخر، وأصلحت قواعد الصواريخ التي تعرضت للقصف.
في غضون ذلك، ذكرت شبكة «سي إن إن» الأمريكية أن إسرائيل رفعت مستوى التأهب وعززت استعداداتها العسكرية، في ظل مؤشرات متزايدة على احتمال تنفيذ هجوم مشترك بين الولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل ضد إيران خلال الأيام القادمة.
تهديد إسرائيلي
ونقلت الشبكة عن مصدرين إسرائيليين، أحدهما مسؤول عسكري، قولهما إن إسرائيل منذ أسابيع تبدي تشككاً في مسار المفاوضات بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران، وسارعت إلى تسريع تخطيطها العملياتي والدفاعي، رغم ما أُعلن عن إحراز تقدم في الجولة الثانية من المحادثات، أمس (الثلاثاء).
وأوضح أحد المصدرين أن الهجوم المحتمل، في حال صدور تفويض به من الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، يُتوقع أن يتجاوز في نطاقه الحرب التي استمرت 12 يوماً في يونيو، وسيشمل ضربات منسقة تنفذها الولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل معاً.
وأضاف المصدران أن رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو عقد هذا الأسبوع عدة مشاورات أمنية خاصة لتقييم مستوى الجاهزية والتنسيق.
من جهته، قال الرئيس السابق للاستخبارات العسكرية الإسرائيلية عاموس يادلين: «نحن أقرب بكثير مما كنا عليه سابقاً إلى هجوم»، مضيفاً للقناة 12 الإسرائيلية: «كنتُ قد شاركت في مؤتمر ميونيخ للأمن الأسبوع الماضي، لكنني سأفكر مرتين قبل السفر هذا الأسبوع».
الجبهة الداخلية الإسرائيلية
وعقدت لجنة الشؤون الخارجية والدفاع في الكنيست جلسة إحاطة مغلقة مع قائد قيادة الجبهة الداخلية في الجيش الإسرائيلي.
وقال رئيس اللجنة بوعاز بيسموث إن «هذه أيام صعبة نواجه فيها إيران»، مضيفاً أن الحكومة والجمهور يستعدان لكل سيناريو محتمل في حال وقوع مواجهة.
بالمقابل، قال الرئيس الإيراني مسعود بزشكيان، اليوم، إن بلاده لا تؤمن بالحرب «لكن لن نستسلم مهما كلف الأمر» وبحسب التلفزيون الإيراني فإن بزشكيان شدد على أن إيران لن «تقف مكتوفة الأيدي أمام الغطرسة».
The White House spokesperson confirmed today (Wednesday) that there are many reasons and arguments that can be made to justify a U.S. strike against Iran, clarifying that President Donald Trump has always been clear regarding Iran or any other country around the world.
The spokesperson said: “Diplomacy is always President Trump’s first option, and it would be very wise for Iran to initiate an agreement with this administration.”
Diplomatic Calm
For its part, the U.S. State Department stated that it would not preempt events regarding the ongoing talks with Iran, clarifying that the Iranian side shows a willingness to reach an agreement.
A spokesperson for the department said: The U.S. forces deployed in the region are present to protect American interests, explaining that President Trump seeks to achieve peace with Iran.
State Department spokesperson Tommy Vietor defended Trump’s negotiation strategy with Tehran during a television interview, emphasizing: “The president means what he says,” adding that this was clearly demonstrated through the “Midnight Hammer” operation.
Iranian Preparedness
Satellite images have shown that Iran has constructed a concrete shield over a new facility within a military site described by experts as “sensitive,” burying it underground. The images also revealed that Iran has buried entrances to tunnels at a nuclear site that was bombed by the United States during the 12-day war between Israel and Iran last year, fortified tunnel entrances near another site, and repaired missile bases that were bombed.
Meanwhile, CNN reported that Israel has raised its alert level and enhanced its military preparations, amid increasing indications of a potential joint attack by the United States and Israel against Iran in the coming days.
Israeli Threat
The network quoted two Israeli sources, one of whom is a military official, stating that Israel has expressed skepticism about the course of negotiations between the United States and Iran for weeks, hastening its operational and defensive planning, despite announcements of progress in the second round of talks yesterday (Tuesday).
One of the sources clarified that the potential attack, if authorized by President Donald Trump, is expected to exceed the scope of the 12-day war in June and will include coordinated strikes carried out by the United States and Israel together.
The two sources added that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held several special security consultations this week to assess the level of readiness and coordination.
For his part, former head of Israeli military intelligence Amos Yadlin said: “We are much closer than we were before to an attack,” adding to Channel 12 in Israel: “I participated in the Munich Security Conference last week, but I will think twice before traveling this week.”
Israeli Home Front
The Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee held a closed briefing session with the commander of the Israeli Home Front Command.
Committee chairman Boaz Bismuth stated, “These are difficult days in which we face Iran,” adding that the government and the public are preparing for every possible scenario in the event of a confrontation.
In contrast, Iranian President Masoud Bezhakian stated today that his country does not believe in war “but we will not surrender no matter the cost,” and according to Iranian television, Bezhakian emphasized that Iran will not “stand idly by in the face of arrogance.”
