أشعل مقطع فيديو متداول على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي تفاعلاً واسعاً في مصر، بعدما ظهر فيه رجل يضرم النار في قارب صيد بمحافظة الجيزة، مدعياً أنه يحتوي على مواد مخدرة كان يستخدمها خلال نشاطه السابق في الاتجار بالمخدرات، قبل أن تنجح الأجهزة الأمنية في تحديد هويته وضبطه.
وأعلنت وزارة الداخلية المصرية كشف ملابسات الواقعة، موضحة أن المتهم أقدم على إحراق القارب داخل إحدى قرى محافظة الجيزة، ثم وثّق الحادثة ونشرها عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، في خطوة قال إنها جاءت للتعبير عن توبته وابتعاده عن تجارة المخدرات.
وأظهرت التحريات أن صاحب الفيديو عاطل عن العمل وله معلومات جنائية سابقة، ويقيم في نطاق مركز شرطة منشأة القناطر. كما أقر خلال التحقيقات بأنه سبق له الاتجار بالمواد المخدرة بالاشتراك مع شخص آخر، محبوس حالياً على ذمة قضية تتعلق بالمخدرات وحيازة سلاح ناري.
وأوضح المتهم أن القارب كان يُستخدم في تخزين وترويج المواد المخدرة، وأنه أضرم النار فيه يوم الأول من نوفمبر الجاري مستخدماً البنزين، بهدف التخلص مما بداخله من مواد مخدرة وإنهاء ارتباطه بهذا النشاط.
وأضاف، بحسب ما ورد في اعترافاته، أنه أراد من تصوير الواقعة ونشرها توجيه رسالة تحذيرية لمروجي المواد المخدرة وإعلان توبته أمام الجميع، دون أن يتوقع أن يقوده المقطع المصور إلى الأجهزة الأمنية.
وعقب تداول الفيديو، تمكنت الجهات المختصة من تحديد هوية المتهم وضبطه، فيما أكدت وزارة الداخلية اتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية بحقه، لتتحول محاولة إعلان التوبة عبر مواقع التواصل إلى خيط قاد السلطات مباشرة إلى صاحبها.
A widely circulated video on social media sparked significant interaction in Egypt after it showed a man setting fire to a fishing boat in Giza Governorate, claiming it contained drugs he used during his previous involvement in drug trafficking, before security forces succeeded in identifying and apprehending him.
The Egyptian Ministry of Interior announced the details of the incident, explaining that the accused set fire to the boat inside one of the villages in Giza Governorate, then documented the incident and shared it on social media, in a move he said was meant to express his repentance and distance himself from drug trafficking.
Investigations revealed that the video owner is unemployed and has a prior criminal record, residing within the jurisdiction of the Manasha al-Qanater Police Station. He also admitted during the investigations that he had previously engaged in drug trafficking in collaboration with another person, who is currently imprisoned in connection with a drug-related case and possession of a firearm.
The accused explained that the boat was used for storing and promoting drugs, and that he set it on fire on November 1st using gasoline, with the aim of getting rid of the drugs inside it and ending his association with this activity.
He added, according to his confessions, that he wanted to film the incident and share it as a warning message to drug dealers and to announce his repentance in front of everyone, not expecting that the video would lead security forces directly to him.
After the video circulated, the relevant authorities managed to identify and apprehend the accused, while the Ministry of Interior confirmed that legal actions were being taken against him, turning his attempt to announce repentance on social media into a thread that led authorities directly to its owner.
