She couldn’t hold back her tears and stopped singing for a moment, in a human moment captured in a video circulating on social media.
Assala’s emotional reaction came while performing a part of the song, which was written by Rami Kousa and composed by Yazan Al-Sabbagh, as the lyrics took her back to memories of her childhood and her father, while her husband, poet Faiq Hassan, was seen trying to comfort and soothe her.

The circulating clip captured her husband, poet Faiq Hassan, reacting to her state, as he made sure to get close to her and console her in an attempt to calm her down, after tears overwhelmed her during the rehearsals, amidst widespread interaction from followers with the moment that revealed a side of her emotional connection to her family’s memories.

Assala’s Jewelry Theft
On another note, Assala had revealed that she was a victim of theft during her recent concert tour in the United States, after she was surprised to find her jewelry box missing from her room in a hotel in Detroit, following her performance there.
She indicated that the loss of the belongings was not just a material loss, given the sentimental value and special memories they held, as they included pieces she received as gifts from her husband and children, in addition to jewelry bearing her late father’s name and picture, which made the incident painful for her.
