شكا سكان حي السويس بمدينة جازان، من تردي أوضاع الشوارع والطرق في مداخل الحي وحواريه، بعد انتشار المطبات العشوائية والحفريات الناتجة عن هشاشة الطبقة الأسفلتية، التي أصبحت ظاهرة واضحة في الطرق الرئيسية والفرعية، مطالبين بسرعة معالجة الطبقات الأسفلتية وإعادة تأهيلها بما يتناسب مع الكثافة المرورية المتزايدة في الحي، واشتكوا أيضاً من انتشار أسراب طيور الغربان، التي تشكل خطراً صحياً عليهم لاحتمالية نقلها حمى الضنك، إذ تتجمع بأعداد كبيرة في عدة مواقع، خصوصاً حول حاويات النفايات، متمنين من الجهات المختصة تنفيذ حملات مكافحة عاجلة للحد من انتشارها.
وأشار السكان، في حديثهم مع «عكاظ»، إلى وجود مخلفات بناء تشوه المشهد العمراني، وإلى حاجة المداخل للرصف، ومعالجة أوضاع المساحات الواسعة من الأراضي التي تتحول إلى أحواض لتجمعات المياه بعد هطول الأمطار، ما يجعلها بيئة مناسبة لتكاثر البعوض الناقل للأمراض، ومعالجة الأراضي المهملة التي تحولت لمأوى للزواحف. وقال عبدالرحمن الفقيه: إن الطرق في الحي تعاني من هشاشة واضحة وانتشار واسع للحفريات، داعياً إلى إعادة سفلتة الشوارع. أما فراس سهلي فأوضح، أن أسراب الغربان أصبحت تستقر على أسطح المنازل والشرفات وأجهزة التكييف، وتتجمع حول النفايات. وأشار محمد العمودي إلى مشكلة مخلفات البناء التي تتركها بعض شركات المقاولات، فيما تمنى يحيى صالحأ أن يرى افتتاح المزيد من المستوصفات الحكومية والمنشآت التعليمية، نظراً لاتساع مساحة الحي وزيادة عدد سكانه. وطالب محمد حكمي بضرورة إزالة الأشجار والحشائش المنتشرة في الأراضي الفضاء، التي باتت تلامس أسوار المنازل وتشكل مأوى للزواحف والحشرات الضارة، فيما تمنى علي ناصر من المستثمرين الاستفادة من المساحات الواسعة بالحي، وإقامة مشاريع تجارية تسهم في رفع قيمته الاقتصادية.
Residents of the Al-Suwis neighborhood in Jazan city have complained about the deteriorating conditions of the streets and roads at the entrances of the neighborhood and its alleys, following the spread of random speed bumps and potholes resulting from the fragility of the asphalt layer, which has become a clear phenomenon on both main and secondary roads. They are demanding urgent repairs to the asphalt layers and their rehabilitation to match the increasing traffic density in the neighborhood. They also complained about the proliferation of flocks of crows, which pose a health risk due to the possibility of transmitting dengue fever, as they gather in large numbers in several locations, especially around waste containers, hoping that the relevant authorities will implement urgent pest control campaigns to limit their spread.
Residents, in their conversation with “Okaz,” pointed to the presence of construction waste that mars the urban landscape, the need for paving at the entrances, and the need to address the wide areas of land that turn into water pools after rainfall, making them a suitable environment for the breeding of disease-carrying mosquitoes, as well as addressing neglected lands that have become a refuge for reptiles. Abdulrahman Al-Faqih stated that the roads in the neighborhood suffer from clear fragility and widespread potholes, calling for the repaving of the streets. Meanwhile, Firas Sahli explained that flocks of crows have begun to settle on rooftops, balconies, and air conditioning units, gathering around waste. Mohammed Al-Amoudi pointed to the problem of construction waste left by some contracting companies, while Yahya Saleh wished to see the opening of more government clinics and educational facilities, given the expansion of the neighborhood and the increase in its population. Mohammed Hakami called for the removal of trees and grasses spread across vacant lands, which have begun to touch the walls of houses and form a refuge for reptiles and harmful insects, while Ali Nasser hoped that investors would take advantage of the vast spaces in the neighborhood and establish commercial projects that contribute to raising its economic value.
