Cosmetic procedures are no longer limited to enhancing features and highlighting facial details; the focus has also extended to correcting previous results and reversing some changes that no longer align with the desires of their owners, especially with the increasing trend towards a natural appearance and harmony in features.
The reasons for removing fillers vary, from the desire to restore a previous appearance after repeated injections, to the appearance of lumps, asymmetry, or the migration of the injected material from its original site. Some issues may arise after a period following the procedure, making medical evaluation a crucial step before deciding on removal.
The method of dealing with fillers depends on the type of material, the injection site, and the nature of the problem. In the case of hyaluronic acid fillers, the enzyme hyaluronidase can be used to break it down, but this method is not suitable for all types, especially permanent materials. The procedure may also be accompanied by swelling, bruising, or allergic reactions, necessitating its performance under specialized medical supervision.
Removing fillers does not necessarily mean an immediate return to the previous appearance, as results vary based on the nature of the tissues and the material used, and the case may require follow-up or additional interventions. Additionally, the appearance of severe pain, skin discoloration, or vision disturbances after injection requires urgent medical evaluation.
The desire to correct some previous procedures reflects an interest in the natural proportion of features; however, the success of cosmetic procedures is not related to the number of changes or reversing them, but rather to choosing well-considered procedures based on realistic expectations and specialized medical evaluation, away from the influence of idealized images circulated through social media.
