شارك المركز الوطني لتنمية الحياة الفطرية في الاحتفال باليوم العالمي للطيور المهاجرة 2026، الذي يأتي هذا العام تحت شعار «كل طائر له أهميته – ملاحظاتك لها أهميتها!»، تعزيزًا لدور المجتمع في رصد الطيور المهاجرة ودعم الجهود الدولية لحمايتها.
وأكد المركز، أن هذه المناسبة تُعد فرصة عالمية للتوعية بأهمية الطيور المهاجرة ودورها في استدامة النظم البيئية، إذ تسهم في نقل البذور والحد من الآفات وتعزيز التنوع الأحيائي، وتشكل مؤشرًا مهمًا على صحة البيئات الطبيعية.
وأشار إلى أن المملكة تُعد من أهم مسارات الهجرة عالميًا، حيث تعبر أجواءها أكثر من 300 نوع من الطيور، فيما يبلغ عدد الأنواع المسجلة 499 نوعًا تنتمي إلى 67 عائلة، بينها 223 نوعًا متكاثرًا ونحو 180 نوعًا من الطيور المائية، مما يعكس ثراء بيئاتها الطبيعية.
وبيّن المركز، أن حماية الطيور المهاجرة تمثل إحدى أولوياته، من خلال المحافظة على موائلها الطبيعية والحد من المخاطر التي تواجهها أثناء الهجرة، وتنفيذ مبادرات نوعية مثل تركيب عوازل على خطوط الكهرباء في مسارات الهجرة، وأتمتة إجراءات موسم الصيد عبر منصة «فطري» لتعزيز الرقابة والحد من المخالفات.
كما تشمل الجهود تنفيذ المسوحات الميدانية، ومراقبة مسارات الهجرة، وتحديث قوائم الطيور، ودراسة المناطق المهمة للتنوع الأحيائي، بما يدعم اتخاذ قرارات بيئية مبنية على البيانات.
ونتيجة لهذه الجهود، حصلت المملكة على شهادة «الريادة المتميزة» للأنواع المهاجرة خلال مؤتمر الأطراف الخامس عشر بالبرازيل، امتدادًا لفوزها بجائزة الريادة في مؤتمر الأطراف الرابع عشر بسمرقند عام 2024.
وفي ختام البيان، دعا المركز أفراد المجتمع والمهتمين إلى الإسهام في رصد الطيور وتوثيقها، دعمًا للمعرفة العلمية وجهود المحافظة على التنوع الأحيائي واستدامة النظم البيئية.
The National Center for Wildlife Development participated in the celebration of World Migratory Bird Day 2026, which this year comes under the slogan “Every Bird Matters – Your Observations Matter!”, reinforcing the role of the community in monitoring migratory birds and supporting international efforts to protect them.
The center confirmed that this occasion is a global opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of migratory birds and their role in the sustainability of ecosystems, as they contribute to seed dispersal, pest reduction, and biodiversity enhancement, and serve as an important indicator of the health of natural environments.
It pointed out that the Kingdom is one of the most important migratory routes globally, with over 300 species of birds passing through its skies, while the number of recorded species reaches 499 belonging to 67 families, including 223 breeding species and about 180 species of waterfowl, reflecting the richness of its natural environments.
The center indicated that protecting migratory birds is one of its priorities, through the preservation of their natural habitats and reducing the risks they face during migration, and implementing quality initiatives such as installing barriers on power lines in migratory pathways, and automating hunting season procedures via the “Fatri” platform to enhance monitoring and reduce violations.
Efforts also include conducting field surveys, monitoring migratory routes, updating bird lists, and studying important areas for biodiversity, which supports data-driven environmental decision-making.
As a result of these efforts, the Kingdom received the “Outstanding Leadership” certificate for migratory species during the fifteenth Conference of the Parties in Brazil, following its win of the Leadership Award at the fourteenth Conference of the Parties in Samarkand in 2024.
In conclusion, the center called on community members and interested individuals to contribute to monitoring and documenting birds, supporting scientific knowledge and efforts to conserve biodiversity and sustain ecosystems.
