أعلنت وزارة الخارجية الكويتية اليوم (الأربعاء) طرد دبلوماسيين إيرانيين وأمهلتهم 24 ساعة لمغادرة البلاد وذلك اجتجاجاً على الاعتداءات الإيرانية السافرة التي استهدفت المطار.
وقالت وزارة الخارجية في بيان على حسابها في «إكس»: «استدعت وزارة الخارجية، ممثلةً بنائب الوزير السفير حمد سليمان المشعان، اليوم (الأربعاء) القائم بأعمال سفارة إيران لدى الكويت المستشار حامد حميد يعقوبي فر، وسلمته مذكرة احتجاج رسمية بشأن الاعتداءات الإيرانية المستمرة، بالإضافة إلى قرار تخفيض أعضاء السفارة الإيرانية لدى الكويت».
واعتبرت الوزارة، اثنين من أعضاء البعثة الدبلوماسية الإيرانية غير مرغوب فيهما، وطلبت مغادرتهما أراضي دولة الكويت خلال مدة أقصاها 24 ساعة.
وذكر البيان أن نائب وزير الخارجية، أوضح أن هذا القرار يأتي على إثر استمرار الاعتداءات الإيرانية الغاشمة والمتواصلة بالصواريخ البالستية والطائرات المسيرة والتي تجددت فجر اليوم، مستهدفة عدداً من المرافق المدنية والمنشآت الحيوية، من بينها مطار الكويت الدولي، مما أدى إلى وفاة أحد الأشخاص وإصابة العشرات من المدنيين، إلى جانب أضرار مادية طالت منشآت حيوية ومقار دبلوماسية، في انتهاكٍ صارخٍ لسيادة دولة الكويت وسلامة أراضيها، ولميثاق الأمم المتحدة، ومبادئ القانون الدولي، ولقرار مجلس الأمن رقم (2817).
وجدد المشعان، إدانة دولة الكويت واستنكارها بأشد العبارات الهجمات الإيرانية الآثمة، مؤكداً رفض دولة الكويت القاطع استخدام أراضيها أو أجوائها في أي أعمال عدائية ضد أي دولة.
ووصف نائب وزير الخارجية الكويتي الادعاءات الإيرانية بـ«الباطلة والعارية عن الصحة» ولا تستند إلى أي دليل، مؤكداً أن تكرار هذه المزاعم لا يمكن أن يبرر بأي حال من الأحوال الاعتداءات التي طالت أراضي دولة الكويت ومنشآتها المدنية والحيوية.
كما أكد المشعان على حق دولة الكويت الكامل والأصيل في الدفاع عن نفسها، واتخاذ كل ما يلزم من إجراءات لحفظ سيادتها وصون أمنها وحماية أراضيها وأجوائها ومواطنيها والمقيمين فيها إزاء هذه الممارسات العدائية الممنهجة، بما يتسق مع القانون الدولي.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today (Wednesday) the expulsion of Iranian diplomats, giving them 24 hours to leave the country in protest against the blatant Iranian attacks targeting the airport.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement on its account on “X”: “Today (Wednesday), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by Deputy Minister Ambassador Hamad Suleiman Al-Meshaan, summoned the Chargé d’Affaires of the Iranian Embassy in Kuwait, Counselor Hamid Hamid Yaqoubi Far, and delivered to him an official note of protest regarding the ongoing Iranian attacks, in addition to a decision to reduce the members of the Iranian embassy in Kuwait.”
The ministry considered two members of the Iranian diplomatic mission undesirable and requested their departure from the territory of the State of Kuwait within a maximum period of 24 hours.
The statement mentioned that the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs clarified that this decision comes in light of the continued brutal and ongoing Iranian attacks with ballistic missiles and drones, which renewed early today, targeting a number of civilian facilities and vital installations, including Kuwait International Airport, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to dozens of civilians, along with material damages affecting vital facilities and diplomatic premises, in a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Kuwait and the integrity of its territory, as well as the United Nations Charter, principles of international law, and Security Council Resolution No. (2817).
Al-Meshaan reiterated Kuwait’s condemnation and denunciation in the strongest terms of the wrongful Iranian attacks, affirming Kuwait’s firm rejection of the use of its territory or airspace in any hostile acts against any country.
The Kuwaiti Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs described the Iranian allegations as “false and baseless,” lacking any evidence, asserting that the repetition of these claims cannot in any way justify the attacks that have targeted the territory of the State of Kuwait and its civilian and vital installations.
Al-Meshaan also affirmed Kuwait’s full and inherent right to defend itself and to take all necessary measures to preserve its sovereignty, ensure its security, and protect its territory, airspace, citizens, and residents against these systematic hostile practices, in accordance with international law.
