The Egyptian artist Islam Gamal revealed the details of his escape from an attempted car theft at gunpoint while he was with his wife and child, in an incident that led to the arrest of the suspects after notifying the security authorities.
Gamal expressed, in a special statement to “Okaz,” his gratitude for his and his family’s survival from the incident, confirming that what happened was surprising and shocking, especially with his wife and child inside the car, saying: “Thank God, I was saved by a miracle.”
Threatened at gunpoint on the road
The artist recounted that he was surprised while heading to Mohandessin in Cairo by a car blocking his path, before a person got out and brandished a firearm in his face, demanding that he stop.
He explained that he did not initially grasp the reality of the situation and thought it might be a prank or a hidden camera shoot, before realizing the seriousness of the threat, especially with his family inside the car, which prompted him to try to distance himself from the armed individual.
How did the confrontation end?
Gamal added that he quickly reversed his car in an attempt to escape, and during that, he was surprised by a woman driving a car behind him, yelling in protest at his sudden movement, which confused the armed person and led him to leave the scene.
He indicated that he later went to the police and filed a report about the incident, before the security authorities were able to identify the suspects and take the necessary legal actions against them.
The security forces managed to identify the suspects in the incident and arrest them after accusing them of attempting to forcibly seize Islam Gamal’s car, after blocking his path and brandishing a firearm at him, while he was with his wife and daughter.
