بعد ثمانية أعوام من جريمة هزّت الشارع العراقي، أصدرت محكمة جنايات الرصافة في بغداد، الأحد، حكماً بالإعدام بحق أحد المتورطين في خطف وسرقة وقتل صائغ ذهب، في قضية تعود تفاصيلها إلى عام 2018.
وتعود أحداث الجريمة إلى مايو 2018، عندما أقدمت عصابة مكوّنة من ثلاثة أشخاص على اختطاف صائغ ذهب من منطقة بغداد الجديدة، قبل أن تستولي على كامل محتويات متجره، ثم تقدم على قتله وإلقاء جثته على أحد الطرق العامة.
ونقلت وسائل إعلام عراقية، عن أفراد من عائلة الضحية، أن الحكم الصادر أخيراً طال المتهم الثاني في القضية، فيما كان المتهم الأول قد أُلقي القبض عليه بعد أشهر من وقوع الجريمة، وصدر بحقه حكم بالإعدام في وقت سابق.
وأكدت عائلة المجني عليه أن ملف القضية لا يزال مفتوحاً حتى الآن، بانتظار القبض على المتهم الثالث المتواري عن الأنظار، والمتورط في الجريمة التي أثارت صدمة واسعة عقب العثور على جثة الصائغ بعد أيام من اختفائه.
ورغم غياب إحصاءات رسمية دقيقة بشأن معدلات جرائم القتل في العراق، فإن مثل هذه الحوادث تتكرر بين الحين والآخر، وتتصدر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي ووسائل الإعلام المحلية في مختلف المحافظات العراقية.
After eight years of a crime that shook the Iraqi street, the Rusafa Criminal Court in Baghdad issued a death sentence on Sunday against one of the individuals involved in the kidnapping, robbery, and murder of a goldsmith, in a case that dates back to 2018.
The events of the crime date back to May 2018, when a gang consisting of three individuals kidnapped a goldsmith from the Baghdad Al-Jadida area, before seizing all the contents of his shop, then proceeded to kill him and dump his body on a public road.
Iraqi media reported, citing family members of the victim, that the recent ruling targeted the second defendant in the case, while the first defendant had been arrested months after the crime occurred and had previously received a death sentence.
The family of the victim confirmed that the case file is still open, awaiting the arrest of the third defendant, who is in hiding and involved in the crime that caused widespread shock after the goldsmith’s body was found days after his disappearance.
Although there are no accurate official statistics regarding murder rates in Iraq, such incidents occur from time to time and dominate social media and local media in various Iraqi provinces.
