«أنا عاطفي.. وفي هذه اللحظة سأبكي».. تلك التصريحات التي تفوه بها رئيس ومالك نادي الخلود الأمريكي السيد بن هاربورغ الذي تحدث لوسائل الإعلام في تصريح أشبه بـ«العاطفي» حول المواجهة المرتقبة بين ناديه والهلال، خلال نهائي كأس الملك يوم الجمعة القادمة.
معربًا عن تطلعه لتحقيق إنجاز تاريخي يُحسب للنادي، في واحدة من أهم المحطات في مسيرته منذ توليه المسؤولية، وكان الخلود قد حجز مقعده في المباراة النهائية بعد مشوار مميز، نجح خلاله في إقصاء الاتحاد من الدور نصف النهائي بركلات الترجيح (5-4)، عقب نهاية الوقتين الأصلي والإضافي بالتعادل الإيجابي (2-2)، في مواجهة مثيرة شهدت ندية كبيرة حتى اللحظات الأخيرة، ليواصل الفريق مفاجآته ويضرب موعداً مع الهلال على اللقب.
وقال بن هاربورغ في تصريحات لوسائل الإعلام: أنا شخص عاطفي للغاية، وفي حال حققنا اللقب أمام الهلال، سأنهار من البكاء من دون أدنى شك، فهي ستكون لحظة رائعة واستثنائية في تاريخ النادي.
وأضاف: في مثل هذه المباريات تشعر وكأن حياتك على المحك، لذلك إذا فزنا، سأذوب من شدة التأثر، نحن نعيش حلمًا كبيرًا، ونتمنى التتويج، كما نأمل في دعم جماهير الأندية الأخرى، مثل الأهلي والاتحاد، كما ذكرت سابقًا.
وتابع حديثه: «المباراة لن تكون سهلة على الإطلاق، فالهلال فريق قوي ومتمرس في مثل هذه النهائيات، ويمتلك خبرات كبيرة، كما أنه سيحظى بالنسبة الأكبر من التذاكر، وهو ما يمنحه أفضلية جماهيرية واضحة، لكننا سنحاول تعويض ذلك بالروح القتالية والتركيز داخل الملعب».
واختتم: علينا أن نتكاتف جميعًا داخل النادي، من جهاز فني ولاعبين وجماهير، وأن نظهر بأفضل صورة ممكنة في هذه المباراة، لأن مثل هذه الفرص لا تتكرر كثيرًا، وعلينا استغلالها بالشكل الأمثل.
“I am emotional… and at this moment, I will cry”… those were the statements made by the president and owner of the American Al-Khulood Club, Mr. Ben Harburg, who spoke to the media in a statement that resembled an “emotional” one regarding the upcoming match between his club and Al-Hilal in the King’s Cup final next Friday.
Expressing his aspiration to achieve a historic accomplishment for the club, in one of the most important milestones in his tenure, Al-Khulood secured its place in the final after a remarkable journey, during which it succeeded in eliminating Al-Ittihad in the semi-finals through penalties (5-4), following a positive draw (2-2) at the end of the regular and extra time, in a thrilling match that witnessed significant competitiveness until the last moments, allowing the team to continue its surprises and set a date with Al-Hilal for the title.
Ben Harburg stated in remarks to the media: “I am a very emotional person, and if we win the title against Al-Hilal, I will undoubtedly break down in tears, as it will be a wonderful and exceptional moment in the club’s history.”
He added: “In such matches, you feel as if your life is at stake, so if we win, I will melt from the intensity of the emotion. We are living a big dream, and we hope to be crowned champions. We also hope for the support of fans from other clubs, like Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad, as I mentioned earlier.”
He continued: “The match will not be easy at all, as Al-Hilal is a strong team experienced in such finals and possesses great expertise. They will also have the larger share of the tickets, which gives them a clear fan advantage, but we will try to compensate for that with fighting spirit and focus on the field.”
He concluded: “We all need to unite within the club, from the coaching staff to the players and fans, and we must present ourselves in the best possible way in this match, because such opportunities do not come around often, and we must make the most of them.”
