حين يتآكل الدافع الداخلي في المجتمعات المقهورة، لا يكون ذلك مجرد عرض نفسي عابر، بل نتيجة بنية معقدة تعيد تشكيل وعي الإنسان وعلاقته بذاته وبالزمن.
فالقمع لا يقتصر على تقييد الفعل، بل يمتد ليقوّض فكرة الجدوى ذاتها، إذ يفقد الفرد الإحساس بأن جهوده يمكن أن تحدث فرقاً، وتتلاشى المعاني التي تمنح الفعل قيمته، خصوصاً في غياب الاعتراف والعدالة بوصفهما شرطين أساسيين لأي دافعية إنسانية.
فالاعتراف ليس مجرد تقدير رمزي، بل هو تأسيس لوجود الإنسان داخل نسيج اجتماعي يعترف بفاعليته، وعندما يحرم منه يشعر بأن جهده بلا أثر.
أما العدالة؛ فهي التي تربط الفعل بنتائجه بشكل منصف، ومع غيابها يتفكك هذا الرابط، فتنهار الثقة ويضمحل الإحساس بالجدوى. على هذا الأساس؛ يعاد توجيه الطاقة الإنسانية من الإنتاج والإبداع إلى التكيف القسري أو المقاومة الصامتة، فتنشأ حالة من الاغتراب بالمعنى، فالغربة عن العدالة وفقدان القدرة على التحكم بالمصير تولدان شعوراً بالعجز، ويغدو النشاط الإنساني طاقة مهدورة تستهلك في محاولات النجاة أو التكيّف مع القيود بدل أن تستثمر في الإبداع والتطور.
ومع تكرار هذا النمط؛ يتراجع الأمل بوصفه أفقاً زمنياً ممتداً، ويتحوّل المستقبل إلى مجال غامض أو غير موثوق، مما يدفع الإنسان إلى الانكفاء على الحاضر، حيث تنحصر الحياة في استجابات آنية تفتقر إلى التراكم والمعنى. وهنا ينشأ نمط من العيش اللحظي الاستهلاكي، حيث لا ينشغل الفرد ببناء مجتمعه أو تخيل مستقبله، بل يركز على النجاة اليومية.
هذا التحوّل يعمق الإحساس بالاغتراب، ليس فقط عن المجتمع، بل عن الذات أيضاً، حيث تتآكل الإرادة الحرة لصالح أنماط من التكيف. ومع الزمن، يتشكّل ما يمكن تسميته بالوعي المهزوم، وهو وعي يعيد إنتاج القهر داخلياً، ويبرر العجز بوصفه قدراً. في هذه المرحلة؛ لا يعود القمع بحاجة إلى أدواته المباشرة، إذ يصبح مدمجاً في الوعي الجمعي.
ومع ذلك؛ فإن استعادة الدافعية تظل ممكنة، لكنها مشروطة بإعادة بناء منظومة الاعتراف والعدالة، بما يعيد للإنسان إحساسه بالجدوى، ويربط فعله بنتائجه، ويفتح أمامه أفق المستقبل كمساحة قابلة للتشكل. عندها فقط يمكن للطاقة الإنسانية أن تتحوّل من وسيلة للنجاة إلى قوة فاعلة في الإبداع والتطور.
When the internal drive in oppressed societies erodes, it is not merely a fleeting psychological manifestation, but a result of a complex structure that reshapes human consciousness and its relationship with itself and time.
Repression is not limited to restricting action; it extends to undermine the very idea of efficacy, as individuals lose the sense that their efforts can make a difference, and the meanings that give action its value fade away, especially in the absence of recognition and justice as essential conditions for any human motivation.
Recognition is not just a symbolic appreciation; it is the foundation of human existence within a social fabric that acknowledges its effectiveness, and when deprived of it, one feels that their effort is without impact.
As for justice; it is what connects action to its outcomes in a fair manner, and in its absence, this link disintegrates, trust collapses, and the sense of efficacy diminishes. On this basis, human energy is redirected from production and creativity to forced adaptation or silent resistance, creating a state of alienation in meaning, as estrangement from justice and the loss of the ability to control one’s destiny generate a feeling of helplessness, and human activity becomes wasted energy consumed in attempts to survive or adapt to constraints instead of being invested in creativity and development.
With the repetition of this pattern, hope as an extended temporal horizon diminishes, and the future transforms into an ambiguous or unreliable realm, pushing individuals to retreat into the present, where life is confined to immediate responses lacking accumulation and meaning. Here, a pattern of momentary consumerist living arises, where individuals do not engage in building their community or imagining their future, but focus on daily survival.
This transformation deepens the sense of alienation, not only from society but also from oneself, as free will erodes in favor of patterns of adaptation. Over time, what can be termed as a defeated consciousness forms, which reproduces oppression internally and justifies helplessness as fate. At this stage, repression no longer requires its direct tools, as it becomes integrated into the collective consciousness.
Nevertheless, the restoration of motivation remains possible, but it is contingent upon rebuilding the system of recognition and justice, which restores to individuals their sense of efficacy, connects their actions to their outcomes, and opens before them the horizon of the future as a space ready to be shaped. Only then can human energy transform from a means of survival into an active force in creativity and development.
