لم تكن السعودية في زمانٍ مضى تردُّ على مَنْ يتناوشونها. وفي وقتنا الحالي لم يعد الصمت مجدياً؛ ما تطلّب منهجيةً أكثر حزماً وصرامةً؛ خصوصاً بعدما أصبح البعض -ومنهم من أقرب الأقربين – يوظّفون «قوتهم الخشنة والناعمة» للطعن في الظهر. بيد أن المملكة ظلت تتعامل -حتى في حال اضطرارها إلى الردِّ على تلك الإساءات، والافتراءات- بعدم التصعيد والتثبيط. فلا هي تبذَّلتْ، ولا هي أفحشت في القول بما يوازي حجم ما يتكشّف من الدسائس والمؤامرات.
ولعلَّ الرسالة السعودية الأخيرة الموجّهة للمجلس الانتقالي الجنوبي كانت واضحةً: لن تتوقف المملكة عن القيام بدورها الذي تعتبره مهمتها تجاه حماية شعبها، وأشقائها، إذ حاولوا هذه المرة ضرب السعودية في مقتل مما خالوه «كعب أخيل»، الذي لن تنهض منه لو ضربت فيه، (اليمن). وصُعقوا حين تكشّف لهم أن السعودية لن تسكت، ولن تصمت على محاولات التجريب أو التخريب. ليس لأنها تدافع عن «مناطق نفوذ» كما يزعمون، بل لأنها تدافع عن مصالح حيوية مهمة، هدفها الأول والأخير صدّ التهديدات، ودرء المخاطر، وسدّ الثغرات التي قد تنفذ منها مُزعزعات للأمن والاستقرار. تفعل ذلك كله وهي بريئة من الهوس بالأيديولوجيا، والتنطُّعات القومية؛ ولذلك لم تُنكر أية جهة دولية ذات وزن ما قامت به المملكة في حضرموت والمهرة وعدن.
لقد ظلّت علاقة المملكة باليمن محكومةً بجغرافيا واقعية لا يمكن تحريكها، أو تقطيع أوصالها؛ ولهذا دأبت على معالجة العقبات التي تطرأ على تلك الجغرافيا، من دون تدخُّلٍ في شؤون الدول الأخرى، ومن دون سعيها وراء مكاسب حدودية، أو ما بعد الحدودية. فهي ليست بحاجة إلى توسّع إقليمي، بما تملك من أراضٍ شاسعةٍ، وأقاليم متنوعةٍ، وشعبٍ أصيلٍ لا يعرف الانكسار.
ما حدث في اليمن أخيراً، لا يمكن التعامل معه باعتباره شأناً يمنيّاً داخليّاً؛ إذ إن مَنْ يقفون وراءه اختاروا «الجغرافيا الخطأ» لتهديد أمن واستقرار المملكة، وسيادتها على ترابها الوطني، عبر حدودٍ ملاصقةٍ تمتدُّ آلاف الكيلومترات. وكان الحل الذي توافق عليه الأشقاء اليمنيون، بمَنْ فيهم قيادة المجلس الانتقالي الجنوبي، أن يلتئم في الرياض مؤتمر وطني لتقرير مصير الجنوب اليمني، بما لا يضير المعركة الطويلة لاسترداد الشرعية اليمنية. وفي الساعة المحددة للحضور إلى الرياض قرّر رئيس المجلس عيدروس الزبيدي الهروب من عدن، والتخلّف عن الرهانات العاقلة. قام بذلك وهو مَنْ أعلن بنفسه في عدن أنه يقدّر حرص السعودية على تشجيع اليمنيين -من الشمال والجنوب- على وضع خريطة طريق خالية من الألغام والمخاطر لتلبية تطلعات الجنوب.
مَنْ يظنون أن استهداف السعودية بهذه الطريقة سيؤدي إلى تفكيك التحالف لدعم الشرعية في اليمن خاطئون، بل هم سُذَّج لا يعرفون شيئاً عن قدرات السعودية، وإمكاناتها، وتحالفاتها الإقليمية والدولية. وأظنهم لا يعرفون أيضاً القدرات الكبيرة حقّاً لقوتها الناعمة وكذلك الخشنة.
ويعلم الداني والقاصي أن سياسة المملكة، بقيادة خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، وولي العهد الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، ترتكز على أن تكون المملكة والمنطقة خاليتين من النزاعات، والخلافات، والتشاحن، والبغضاء، بل ذهبت إلى سياسة «تصفير المشاكل»، بما يتيح الازدهار الاقتصادي والتنمية التي تنشدها لها ولدول المنطقة. ولذلك نشطت الدبلوماسية السعودية؛ لضمان أمن واستقرار سورية، ولبنان، ووقف حربَيْ السودان واليمن.
الأكيد أن الأزمة في جنوب اليمن مُتجهة إلى حلول مُرضية بعد حلِّ «المجلس الانتقالي»، وبدء الحوار «الجنوبي» من خلال تغليب «الحكمة اليمانية» واستجابة أبنائه لنداء العقل، والأمن، وترجيح مصالح الشعب اليمني، من دون تشبّث بمصالح شخصية، وأجندات خارجية، فالمملكة ليست طامعةً في موارد أية دولة أخرى؛ إذ يكفيها ما وهبها الله من خيرات ومكاسب وعلاقات تمتدّ عبر العالم من أدناه إلى أقصاه.
وكلمة السرّ بوضوح، وتأكيداً للجغرافيا: تهديد أمن المملكة خطٌ أحمر سيتم التصدي له بحزم صارم.
In the past, Saudi Arabia did not respond to those who attacked it. In our current time, silence is no longer effective; this has necessitated a more resolute and strict approach, especially after some—among them close allies—began to employ their “hard and soft power” to stab in the back. However, the Kingdom has continued to deal—with even the necessity of responding to those insults and slanders—without escalation or discouragement. It neither overreacted nor exaggerated in its statements to match the scale of the conspiracies and plots that are revealed.
Perhaps the recent Saudi message directed to the Southern Transitional Council was clear: the Kingdom will not cease its role, which it considers its mission to protect its people and its brothers, as they attempted this time to strike at Saudi Arabia’s Achilles’ heel, which they thought was Yemen. They were shocked when it became clear to them that Saudi Arabia would not remain silent or quiet about attempts at experimentation or sabotage. Not because it is defending “areas of influence” as they claim, but because it is defending vital interests, whose primary and ultimate goal is to repel threats, avert dangers, and close gaps that could be exploited by those who destabilize security and stability. It does all this while being innocent of obsession with ideology and nationalistic pretensions; thus, no significant international entity has denied what the Kingdom has done in Hadhramaut, Al-Mahrah, and Aden.
The relationship between the Kingdom and Yemen has remained governed by a realistic geography that cannot be moved or severed; therefore, it has consistently worked to address the obstacles that arise in that geography, without interfering in the affairs of other countries, and without seeking border gains or gains beyond borders. It does not need regional expansion, given its vast lands, diverse regions, and a resilient people who do not know defeat.
What has happened recently in Yemen cannot be treated as an internal Yemeni affair; those behind it have chosen the “wrong geography” to threaten the security and stability of the Kingdom and its sovereignty over its national territory, through adjacent borders that extend for thousands of kilometers. The solution agreed upon by the Yemeni brothers, including the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council, was to hold a national conference in Riyadh to determine the fate of southern Yemen, without harming the long battle to restore Yemeni legitimacy. At the appointed time to attend in Riyadh, the head of the council, Aidarus al-Zubaidi, decided to flee from Aden and abandon rational bets. He did this while he himself announced in Aden that he appreciates Saudi Arabia’s efforts to encourage Yemenis—from the north and south—to lay out a roadmap free of mines and dangers to meet the aspirations of the south.
Those who think that targeting Saudi Arabia in this way will lead to the dismantling of the coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen are mistaken; they are naïve and know nothing about Saudi Arabia’s capabilities, resources, and regional and international alliances. I believe they also do not know the truly significant capabilities of its soft as well as hard power.
It is well known that the Kingdom’s policy, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, is based on ensuring that the Kingdom and the region are free from conflicts, disputes, strife, and hatred. It has even adopted a policy of “zeroing out problems,” which allows for the economic prosperity and development that it seeks for itself and for the countries in the region. Therefore, Saudi diplomacy has been active to ensure the security and stability of Syria and Lebanon, and to stop the wars in Sudan and Yemen.
It is certain that the crisis in southern Yemen is heading towards satisfactory solutions after resolving the “Transitional Council” and starting the “southern” dialogue by prioritizing “Yemeni wisdom” and responding to the call of reason, security, and prioritizing the interests of the Yemeni people, without clinging to personal interests or external agendas, as the Kingdom is not greedy for the resources of any other country; it is sufficient for it what God has bestowed upon it in terms of wealth, gains, and relationships that extend across the world from its depths to its farthest reaches.
The password is clear, reaffirming geography: threatening the security of the Kingdom is a red line that will be met with strict firmness.
