في كل حارة قديمة، كان هناك واحد معروف لا يحتاج إلى تعريف، يظهر إذا اجتمع الصغار

على لعبة واتفقوا على قواعدها وبدأت المنافسة تأخذ طريقها الطبيعي، لا يلعب ولا همه من يفوز ولا يعترض على القواعد، لكنه ببساطة يخرب اللعبة.

أما الآن، صارت اللعبة أكبر من ذلك بكثير، دولاً، ومشاريع، ومصالح، وتحالفات، وخرائط، ومستقبل شعوب، ومع ذلك يبدو أن الشخصية نفسها لم تتغير كثيراً، فكلما اقتربت بعض المسارات من ترتيب يمكن أن يفتح باباً للحل، وكلما بدا أن هناك مشروعاً يحاول أن يمضي نحو غايته، يظهر ذلك الذي «لا يلعب لكنه لا يريد للآخرين أن يلعبوا»؛ فيخلط الأوراق، ويعيد توزيع الأدوار، ويدفع بعض القطع إلى مقدمة المشهد، ثم ينسحب قليلاً ليراقب النتائج.

والأطرف، أنه لا يأتيك دائماً بوجه المعرقل، بل بوجه الصديق الحريص على الاستقرار، وربما الحريص أكثر من الجميع على نجاح اللعبة، لكن المشكلة أن اللعبة بطريقة ما، لا تكاد تستقيم كلما اقترب منها، هنا تتذكر حكمة الحارة القديمة «إذا شفت اللعبة ما تمشي فتّش عن اللي يخرّبها».

ليس المقصود أن كل اختلاف مؤامرة، ولا أن كل طرف يملك مشروعاً مختلفاً هو بالضرورة «مخرّباً»، فالسياسة بطبيعتها مصالح متشابكة، ولكل دولة حساباتها وأولوياتها، لكن هناك فرقاً بين أن يكون لك مشروع مستقل وأن يتحول مشروعك إلى سبب دائم في تعطيل مشاريع الآخرين، وفرق أكبر بين أن تختلف مع حليفك وأن تتصرف وكأن نجاحه خسارة لك.

في السياسة، لا تحتاج دائماً إلى إعلان الخصومة، يكفي أحياناً أن تراقب من يقترب حين تقترب التسويات، ومن يتحرك حين تتحرك المشاريع، ومن تتغير مواقفه كلما اقتربت الصورة من الاكتمال، عندها قد لا تحتاج إلى أن تسأل: من الذي يخرّب اللعبة؟ فقد تكون الإجابة واقفةً أمامك تبتسم وتقول بكل براءة: «أنا؟! والله ما لمست شيئاً».

Now, however, the game has become much bigger than that—nations, projects, interests, alliances, maps, and the future of peoples. Yet, it seems that the same character has not changed much, as whenever some paths come close to an arrangement that could open a door to a solution, and whenever it seems that there is a project trying to move towards its goal, that person who “doesn’t play but doesn’t want others to play” appears; mixing the cards, redistributing the roles, pushing some pieces to the forefront, then withdrawing slightly to observe the results.

Interestingly, he does not always come to you with the face of the obstructer, but rather with the face of a friend concerned about stability, perhaps more concerned than anyone else about the success of the game. But the problem is that the game, in some way, hardly ever stabilizes whenever he gets close to it. Here, you remember the wisdom of the old neighborhood: “If you see the game not progressing, look for the one who is disrupting it.”

It is not meant that every disagreement is a conspiracy, nor that every party with a different project is necessarily a “disruptor.” Politics, by its nature, involves intertwined interests, and each country has its own calculations and priorities. However, there is a difference between having an independent project and having your project become a constant reason for hindering the projects of others, and an even greater difference between disagreeing with your ally and acting as if their success is a loss for you.

In politics, you do not always need to declare enmity; sometimes it is enough to observe who approaches when settlements are near, who moves when projects are underway, and who changes their positions as the picture gets closer to completion. At that point, you may not need to ask: who is disrupting the game? The answer might be standing right in front of you, smiling and saying innocently: “Me?! I swear I didn’t touch anything.”
