The Spanish Football Federation’s Appeals Committee rejected Real Madrid’s appeal against the suspension of their star Vinícius Júnior for 4 matches in La Liga.
Penalty for Hair Pulling and Protesting
Vinícius was sent off in the recent match against Villarreal in La Liga for pulling the hair of Villarreal player Saliba, along with his inappropriate protests against the referee. Consequently, the Spanish Football Federation’s Disciplinary Committee decided to punish him with a 4-match suspension, consisting of two matches for the hair-pulling incident and two matches for his protests against the referee.
Upholding the Penalty
According to the Spanish newspaper “AS,” the Appeals Committee rejected Real Madrid’s appeal, which sought to annul the penalty or at least reduce it, and upheld the decision to suspend the player for 4 matches.
As a result, Vinícius Júnior will miss matches against Sevilla, Barcelona, Racing Santander, and Valencia, and he is expected to return to participate in La Liga after the international break, during the match against Celta Vigo scheduled for November 22.
