Spanish club Real Madrid has reached an agreement with its English star Jude Bellingham to extend his contract until 2031, according to the Spanish newspaper “AS.”
Bellingham joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2023, coming from Borussia Dortmund, and signed a contract that runs until the end of the 2028-2029 season, before both parties agreed to extend it under the new contract.
Contract Improvement
The Spanish newspaper clarified that the English international will also receive an improvement in his contract, commensurate with the significance of his performance and impact, and the major role his presence represents in Real Madrid’s squad.
The report added that negotiations began in the latter part of last season and saw complete agreement since the start of communications, as Bellingham feels an increasing connection to Real Madrid and life in the Spanish capital, which the royal club’s fans are aware of.
Future Leader
Since joining Real Madrid, Bellingham has proven to be a player capable of making a difference, as he has shown his ability to become a leader in the dressing room, in a team looking for a leadership figure to take responsibility following players like Dani Carvajal, Luka Modric, and Toni Kroos, who had significant weight and presence within the group, amid the team’s need for a prominent figure to lead it, as was the case in previous years.
Bellingham’s Numbers
During the current season, the English midfielder has scored three goals and provided three assists in La Liga.
