لم يكن أكثر المتشائمين يتوقع أن يصل الحال بالاتحاد إلى هذا المشهد الباهت؛ موسم صفري بامتياز عنوانه الإخفاق من كل الأبواب، وانهيار فني وإداري لا يليق بتاريخ (عميد الأندية السعودية). موسم كارثي بكل المقاييس؛ فريق غاب عنه التنظيم والروح، وتراجع في المستوى، وفقد هويته داخل الملعب، مع تخبط واضح في القرارات خارج الملعب.
لم ينافس على لقب الدوري، وخرج مبكراً من كأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين، وغادر كأس السوبر السعودي دون أي أثر يُذكر، قبل أن يُكمل سلسلة الإخفاقات بالخروج من دوري أبطال آسيا للنخبة، ليغلق الموسم بلا إنجاز يُحفظ في الذاكرة. النتائج وحدها لا تروي القصة، فالأداء كان باهتاً، والشخصية غائبة، والأخطاء تتكرر دون حلول.
السؤال الذي يفرض نفسه: ماذا فعلت يا سندي في هذا الكيان الكبير؟ الإدارة لم تُحسن قراءة المرحلة، ولم تنجح في بناء فريق قادر على المنافسة، واختيارات فنية لم تكن موفقة، وغياب للاستقرار، وقرارات دون الطموح. كرة القدم لا تعترف بالأسماء بقدر ما تعترف بالعمل والتخطيط، وهي عناصر غابت بوضوح.
وما يزيد المشهد ألماً أن أسماء بحجم محمد نور وحمد المنتشري حضرت في مرحلة حساسة دون أن ينعكس وجودها إيجاباً كما كان مأمولاً. داخل الملعب افتقد الفريق للشخصية والفاعلية، وخارج الملعب تراجعت الثقة وارتفع الغضب الجماهيري، لتتسع الفجوة بين الفريق وجمهوره.
جماهير الاتحاد كانت الحاضر الأكبر رغم كل شيء؛ دعمت وساندت ولم تتخلَّ، لكنها لا تستحق هذا المشهد ولا هذا الكم من الخيبات. هذا الجمهور يستحق فريقاً يقاتل من أجله ويعيد له الفرح، لا فريقاً يودّع البطولات بلا مقاومة.
وهنا، لا بد أن تُقال الحقيقة كما هي:
إلى سندي.. لقد مُنحت الفرصة ولم تُحسن استغلالها، وكيان بحجم الاتحاد لا يُدار بالتجربة ولا يُحتمل فيه هذا القدر من الإخفاق. الجماهير صبرت طويلاً لكنها اليوم تقولها بوضوح: ارحل. ليس بدافع الغضب فقط بل حفاظاً على ما تبقى من هيبة النادي. ارحل لأن الاتحاد أكبر من كل الأسماء، ولأن المرحلة تحتاج فكراً مختلفاً وإدارة تعيد التوازن، ارحل لأن البقاء بعد كل هذا الفشل لا يمكن تبريره، ارحل غير مأسوفٍ عليك.
ما حدث ليس تعثراً عابراً بل جرس إنذار يتطلب مراجعة شاملة تعيد الهيبة وتُصحح المسار، فالاتحاد أكبر من أن يُدار بردود الأفعال وأكبر من أن يكون ضحية قرارات مرتجلة، وبين السقوط والعودة هناك قرار يجب أن يُتخذ.

The results alone do not tell the story; the performance was lackluster, the character was absent, and mistakes were repeated without solutions.
The question that imposes itself is: What have you done, Sandi, to this great entity? The management did not read the phase well, did not succeed in building a competitive team, made unsuccessful technical choices, lacked stability, and made decisions that fell short of ambition. Football does not recognize names as much as it recognizes work and planning, elements that were clearly absent.
What adds to the pain of the scene is that names as significant as Mohammed Noor and Hamad Al-Montashari were present in a sensitive phase without their presence reflecting positively as hoped. On the field, the team lacked character and effectiveness, and off the field, confidence declined and fan anger rose, widening the gap between the team and its supporters.
The fans of Al-Ittihad were the most present despite everything; they supported and stood by the team and did not abandon it, but they do not deserve this scene nor this amount of disappointments. This audience deserves a team that fights for them and brings back joy, not a team that exits tournaments without resistance.

Leave because Al-Ittihad is bigger than all names, and because this phase requires a different mindset and management that restores balance, leave because staying after all this failure cannot be justified, leave without being missed.
What happened is not a fleeting stumble but a wake-up call that requires a comprehensive review to restore dignity and correct the course, for Al-Ittihad is too big to be managed by reactions and too big to be a victim of hasty decisions, and between falling and returning, there is a decision that must be made.
