وسط ترقب بتسليم طهران ردها على مقترحات واشنطن، ذكرت وسائل إعلام إيرانية أن قائد الجيش الباكستاني عاصم منير سيصل اليوم (الخميس)، إلى طهران في إطار المشاورات مع المسؤولين الإيرانيين.
وأفادت وكالة «إيسنا» الإيرانية بأن زيارة قائد الجيش الباكستاني إلى طهران جزء من جهود الوساطة بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران، وتأتي زيارة عاصم بعد وصول وزير الداخلية الباكستاني محسن نقوي.
وقالت الخارجية الإيرانية إنها تلقت وجهات النظر الأمريكية وتعكف على دراستها، وبحسب المتحدث باسم الوزارة إسماعيل بقائي فإن باكستان واصلت التوسط في نقل الرسائل بين طهران وواشنطن.
ونقل موقع «نور نيوز» الإيراني عن بقائي قوله: إن عدة جولات من الاتصالات جرت استناداً إلى الإطار الإيراني الأصلي المؤلف من 14 بندا.
وفي سياق متصل، ذكرت وكالة الأنباء الإيرانية «إرنا»، اليوم، أن 20 بحاراً إيرانياً كانوا على متن سفينة احتجزتها الولايات المتحدة قبالة سواحل سنغافورة، عادوا إلى بلادهم بعد جهود دبلوماسية بين وزير الخارجية الإيراني ونظيريه الباكستاني والسنغافوري.
في المقابل، أكد مسؤول أمني إسرائيلي أن الحرب مع إيران طويلة الأمد، متوقعاً خوض جولات متكررة من القتال ضد الجانب الإيراني.
ونقلت صحيفة «يديعوت أحرونوت» عن المسؤول قوله: «علينا تنسيق التوقعات مع الرأي العام، فالحرب مع إيران طويلة الأمد»، مضيفاً: «طالما لم يسقط هذا النظام، فمن المتوقع أن نخوض جولات متكررة من القتال، ربما كل عام أو حتى بوتيرة أسرع، لضمان ألا يُهدد التهديد النووي والصواريخ الباليستية وجود إسرائيل».
بدوره، شكك رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو في المفاوضات الجارية بين إيران والولايات المتحدة من أجل التوصل لاتفاق ينهي الحرب التي تفجرت في 28 فبراير الماضي، موضحاً أنه يفضل استئناف الحرب لتقليص القدرات العسكرية الإيرانية بشكل أكبر وإضعاف النظام عبر تدمير بنيته التحتية الحيوية.
Amid anticipation for Tehran to deliver its response to Washington’s proposals, Iranian media reported that the Chief of the Pakistani Army, Asim Munir, will arrive today (Thursday) in Tehran as part of consultations with Iranian officials.
The Iranian news agency “ISNA” reported that the visit of the Pakistani Army Chief to Tehran is part of mediation efforts between the United States and Iran, and Asim’s visit follows the arrival of Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that it has received the American viewpoints and is currently studying them. According to the ministry’s spokesperson, Ismail Baqaei, Pakistan has continued to mediate in conveying messages between Tehran and Washington.
The Iranian website “Noor News” quoted Baqaei as saying that several rounds of communications have taken place based on the original Iranian framework consisting of 14 points.
In a related context, the Iranian news agency “IRNA” reported today that 20 Iranian sailors who were on a ship detained by the United States off the coast of Singapore have returned to their country after diplomatic efforts between the Iranian Foreign Minister and his Pakistani and Singaporean counterparts.
In contrast, an Israeli security official confirmed that the war with Iran is long-term, expecting to engage in repeated rounds of fighting against the Iranian side.
The newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” quoted the official as saying: “We need to coordinate expectations with public opinion; the war with Iran is long-term,” adding: “As long as this regime is not toppled, we can expect to engage in repeated rounds of fighting, perhaps every year or even at a faster pace, to ensure that the nuclear threat and ballistic missiles do not jeopardize Israel’s existence.”
For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed skepticism about the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States to reach an agreement that would end the war that erupted on February 28, explaining that he prefers to resume the war to further reduce Iranian military capabilities and weaken the regime by destroying its vital infrastructure.
