In a final chapter of a bloody nightmare that weighed on the chests of Ugandans for a decade and a half, special forces succeeded in putting an end to the most notorious and predatory cannibal in the country’s modern history, concluding a dark criminal career filled with slaughter, predation, and armed robbery.
The horrifying details of the blood-soaked record of the accused, Mugorize Musa (38 years old), emerged, who used a machete as a cleaver to exterminate entire families inside their homes. He not only eliminated his victims (including a priest, his congregation, a doctor, and eight of his family members) but also took pleasure in devouring parts of their bodies, in addition to luring women through fake romantic relationships to kill them and desecrate their corpses.
The commander of the special forces in the Ugandan army, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, announced the arrest of this “serial killer” who terrorized the regions of Masaka, Ibanda, and Kazo between 2010 and 2025, claiming the lives of 38 recognized victims, confirming that the cannibal would face a public trial followed by a death sentence by hanging.
Investigative authorities are racing against time to uncover the mystery surrounding the killer’s escape and evasion of punishment despite being arrested four times since 2009, amid intensive inquiries to determine whether he is being managed by a network of suspicious dealings as a hired killer, especially after he made initial confessions that suggest raising the victim count to unprecedented record levels.
