تستيقظ مدينة جدة يومياً على إيقاع حيوي يجسد مكانتها قلباً اقتصادياً وتعليمياً نابضاً، هذا الصخب الجميل يصطدم بواقع الازدحام المروري، الذي بات يستهلك جزءاً كبيراً من طاقة سكانها، خصوصاً أوقات الذروة، والعوامل الكثيرة المستجدة كقيادة المرأة وزيادة أعداد الطلبة تبعاً لإلغاء الأولوية في قبول الجامعات، والإقبال الشديد على جامعات جدة، والهجرة بعد إزالة الأحياء العشوائية، فأصبحت الحاجة إلى حلول نقل ذكية أكثر إلحاحاً من أي وقت مضى.
من أبرز هذه الحلول: إنشاء «شبكة قطارات داخلية» تربط الجامعات بعضها البعض، مثل: «جامعة الملك عبدالعزيز» امتداداً إلى فرعها في رابغ، و«جامعة جدة» بفروعها في عسفان والفيصلية والشرفية، وهذه الشبكة لن تكون مجرد وسيلة نقل، بل ستكون مشروعاً حضارياً يخفف من عبء الروتين اليومي على الطلاب والموظفين، ويغيّر شكل الحياة اليومية.
تتبنى منظومة القطارات الداخلية؛ سرعة في الحركة وعدم تأثرها بزحام الطرق، مما يعني وصول الموظفين والطلاب في الوقت المحدد وتقليل التأخر الصباحي والتوتر اليومي، وتقلل اعتماد آلاف الطلاب على السيارات الخاصة، وبالتالي تخفف الضغط على الشوارع الرئيسية مما يخفف من الحوادث المرورية.
وما نطمح له في ظل هذا التطور البناء الذي يشغل انحاء المملكة؛ أن نفعِّل التكنولوجيا والعلم لخدمة البيئة في خطوة لتشغيل القطارات بالكهرباء أو الطاقة النظيفة، مما يخفض انبعاثات الكربون ويحسن جودة الهواء، وهو ما يتماشى مع أهداف الاستدامة و«رؤية 2030».
يمكن أن تبدأ الفكرة بمسارات محددة تربط المناطق التعليمية الكبرى، مع محطات حديثة تتضمن مواقف سيارات، وممرات للمشاة، وخدمات رقمية للحجز والمتابعة. ومع نجاح المرحلة الأولى يمكن توسيع الشبكة تدريجياً، لتشمل الأحياء السكنية والمراكز التجارية.
التطور الذي وصلت اليه المملكة جعلنا نطمح إلى الأفضل في كل ما يخدم الوطن وأبناءه، وعروس البحر الأحمر مدينة تستحق اهتماماً يليق بجمالها وتاريخها، ولعل الزحام الذي يربك شوارعها يحتاج إلى نظام نقل يواكب مكانتها، والقطارات الداخلية بين الجامعات ليست حلماً بعيداً، بل خطوة عملية نحو مدينة أكثر تنظيماً وراحة وحداثة، فحين يتحرك الطلاب بسهولة يتحرك المستقبل معهم.
The city of Jeddah wakes up daily to a vibrant rhythm that embodies its status as a pulsating economic and educational heart. This beautiful hustle collides with the reality of traffic congestion, which has come to consume a significant portion of its residents’ energy, especially during peak hours, along with many new factors such as women’s driving, the increasing number of students following the cancellation of priority in university admissions, the strong demand for Jeddah universities, and migration after the removal of informal settlements. Thus, the need for smart transportation solutions has become more urgent than ever.
One of the most prominent solutions is the establishment of an “internal train network” that connects universities with each other, such as “King Abdulaziz University” extending to its branch in Rabigh, and “Jeddah University” with its branches in Asfan, Al-Faisaliah, and Al-Sharafiyah. This network will not merely be a means of transportation but will be a civilizational project that alleviates the burden of daily routines on students and employees, changing the shape of daily life.
The internal train system adopts speed in movement and is unaffected by road congestion, which means that employees and students will arrive on time, reducing morning delays and daily stress. It also decreases the reliance of thousands of students on private cars, thereby easing the pressure on main streets and reducing traffic accidents.
What we aspire to in light of this constructive development that occupies various parts of the Kingdom is to activate technology and science to serve the environment in a step towards operating trains with electricity or clean energy, which reduces carbon emissions and improves air quality, aligning with sustainability goals and “Vision 2030.”
The idea can start with specific routes connecting major educational areas, with modern stations that include parking lots, pedestrian walkways, and digital services for booking and tracking. With the success of the first phase, the network can gradually expand to include residential neighborhoods and commercial centers.
The development that the Kingdom has reached makes us aspire for the best in everything that serves the nation and its people. The bride of the Red Sea is a city that deserves attention befitting its beauty and history, and perhaps the congestion that disrupts its streets needs a transportation system that matches its status. The internal trains between universities are not a distant dream but a practical step towards a more organized, comfortable, and modern city. When students move easily, the future moves with them.
