في تطور مثير للفاجعة التي هزت كينيا، أوقفت الشرطة 8 طالبات بتهمة التخطيط والتنفيذ العمد لحريق مرعب شبّ في مدرسة «أوتوميشي» الثانوية الداخلية للبنات غرب وسط البلاد، وأسفر عن مقتل 16 طالبة وإصابة 79 آخرين.
وأكدت إدارة التحقيقات الجنائية (عبر وكالة رويترز) أن التحريات الأولية وضعت الطالبات الـ8 في دائرة الاتهام المباشر بإشعال النيران عمداً في مهجع زميلاتهن فجر الخميس، حيث يجرى استجوابهن حالياً لكشف الدوافع.
وتأتي الكارثة لتعيد فتح ملف «حرائق المدارس الكينية» المزمن؛ إذ سجلت البلاد ما يتجاوز 100 حريق عام 2024 وحده، وسط تحذيرات خبراء من تحول احتجاجات الطلاب على صرامة القوانين وسوء الخدمات إلى اعتداءات دامية.
