
تنطلق اليوم الأحد فعاليات مؤتمر البترول العالمي في العاصمة الرياض، في أول استضافة للمملكة لهذا الحدث منذ انطلاق نسخته الأولى في لندن عام 1933، وذلك خلال الفترة من 11 إلى 15 أكتوبر 2026؛ بحسب ما أعلنت وزارة الطاقة عبر منصتها في (إكس).
ويقام المؤتمر تحت شعار «مسارات نحو مستقبل طاقة للجميع»، ضمن أسبوع دولي للطاقة يشمل اجتماعات وزارية عربية ودولية، ومسارات مخصصة للشباب والمرأة والابتكار وريادة الأعمال، إضافة إلى معرض دولي مصاحب، بمشاركة واسعة تضم أكثر من 70 وزيرًا، وأكثر من 300 من رؤساء الشركات وكبار التنفيذيين، إلى جانب قيادات أكثر من 25 منظمة دولية معنية بالطاقة.
ويجمع الحدث نخبة من صناع السياسات والخبراء والباحثين والمبتكرين، لمناقشة التحولات الكبرى التي تعيد تشكيل مستقبل الطاقة عالميًا؛ وفق ما أفادت به وكالة الأنباء السعودية.
ويشهد اليوم انعقاد الاجتماع الوزاري السابع عشر لمنتدى الطاقة الدولي، لبحث قضايا أمن الإمدادات واستقرار الأسواق وتعزيز التعاون بين الدول المنتجة والمستهلكة.
كما تستضيف المملكة بالتوازي الاجتماع الوزاري السابع عشر للطاقة النظيفة (CEM17)، والاجتماع الوزاري الحادي عشر لمبادرة «مهمة الابتكار» (MI-11)، بمشاركة مسؤولين من اقتصادات كبرى وشركات عالمية ومؤسسات بحثية؛ بهدف تسريع تطوير وتبني تقنيات الطاقة وتحويل الابتكار إلى تطبيقات عملية واسعة الأثر.
وفي الإطار الإقليمي، تحتضن الرياض أعمال الدورة السادسة عشرة للمجلس الوزاري العربي للكهرباء، إلى جانب اجتماعات وورش عمل متخصصة لتعزيز التعاون العربي في مجالات الكهرباء والاستثمار والتقنيات الحديثة، ما يعكس اتساع نطاق القضايا المطروحة خلال أسبوع الطاقة الدولي.
ويأتي هذا التجمع في وقت يشهد فيه قطاع الطاقة العالمي تحولات متسارعة مدفوعة بمتطلبات أمن الإمدادات وأهداف الاستدامة والتوسع في التقنيات الرقمية والذكاء الاصطناعي، ما يجعل الاجتماعات منصة محورية لبحث الشراكات وفرص الاستثمار وتطوير حلول عملية للتحديات المستقبلية.
The World Petroleum Conference kicks off today, Sunday, in the capital Riyadh, marking the first time the Kingdom hosts this event since its inaugural edition in London in 1933, taking place from October 11 to 15, 2026; as announced by the Ministry of Energy via its platform on (X).
The conference is held under the slogan “Paths to a Future of Energy for All,” as part of an international energy week that includes Arab and international ministerial meetings, dedicated tracks for youth, women, innovation, and entrepreneurship, in addition to a concurrent international exhibition, with broad participation from more than 70 ministers and over 300 CEOs and senior executives, alongside leaders from more than 25 international organizations concerned with energy.
The event brings together a select group of policymakers, experts, researchers, and innovators to discuss the major transformations reshaping the future of energy globally; according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Today, the seventeenth ministerial meeting of the International Energy Forum will be held to discuss supply security, market stability, and enhancing cooperation between producing and consuming countries.
The Kingdom will also host the seventeenth ministerial meeting on clean energy (CEM17) and the eleventh ministerial meeting of the “Mission Innovation” initiative (MI-11), with the participation of officials from major economies, global companies, and research institutions; aimed at accelerating the development and adoption of energy technologies and transforming innovation into widely impactful practical applications.
In the regional context, Riyadh will host the sixteenth session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity, along with specialized meetings and workshops to enhance Arab cooperation in the fields of electricity, investment, and modern technologies, reflecting the broad range of issues raised during the international energy week.
This gathering comes at a time when the global energy sector is witnessing rapid transformations driven by supply security requirements, sustainability goals, and the expansion of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, making the meetings a pivotal platform to discuss partnerships, investment opportunities, and develop practical solutions to future challenges.
