روى جوردي كينتانا، أحد الناجين من حادثة تصادم قطارين في إقليم طليطلة الإسباني، تفاصيل اللحظات المرعبة التي عاشها ركاب قطار «إيريو»، واصفاً الاصطدام بأنه «كارثة» و«ضربة هائلة»، في وقت تحدث فيه عن حالة الارتباك التي سادت موقع الحادثة، وانتقد غياب المعلومات الموجهة إلى الركاب خلال الساعات الأولى.
50 قتيلاً وأكثر من 179 مصاباً
وارتفعت حصيلة ضحايا تصادم قطارين للركاب في إقليم طليطلة وسط إسبانيا إلى 50 قتيلاً على الأقل، وأكثر من 179 مصاباً، وفقاً لما أعلنته الحماية المدنية، في حادث أعاد المخاوف بشأن سلامة شبكة السكك الحديدية الإسبانية، بعد أشهر من حادث قطارات دامٍ آخر.
وقال كينتانا، الذي كان على متن قطار «إيريو» المتوقف وقت وقوع التصادم، إن الركاب شعروا باهتزاز عنيف ومفاجئ بعد أن ظل القطار متوقفاً لنحو عشر دقائق.
وأضاف في تصريحات لوسائل الإعلام: «كان الأمر مروعاً، لأننا كنا متوقفين بالفعل منذ عشر دقائق، وفجأة شعرت بضربة».
عربات محطمة ومشاهد صادمة
وأوضح الناجي أن اصطدام قطار «AVE» التابع لشركة «رينفي» بالقطار الآخر تسبب في مشاهد من الهلع بين الركاب، وسط أضرار جسيمة لحقت بالعربات المتضررة، وقال إن قوة الاصطدام كانت هائلة إلى درجة أنها دفعت القطار المتضرر باتجاه المسار المجاور، مشيراً إلى أن بعض أجزاء القطارات تعرضت لدمار كبير.
وأضاف: «القاطرات محطمة، وهناك عربتان مدمرتان بالكامل في الخلف»، في وصف لحجم الأضرار التي شاهدها في موقع الحادثة.
ورغم تعرضه لكدمات طفيفة، أعرب كينتانا عن صدمته إزاء الخسائر البشرية، مؤكداً أن بعض الضحايا لن يتمكنوا من رواية ما حدث، وقال متأثراً: «هناك أشخاص لن يستطيعوا أن يرووا ما حدث، إنها مأساة، إنها مأساة حقيقية».
انتقادات لغياب المعلومات عن الركاب
ولم تقتصر معاناة الناجين على الصدمة الناجمة عن التصادم، بل امتدت إلى حالة الغموض التي أحاطت بمصيرهم والإجراءات التي يتعين عليهم اتخاذها بعد الحادث.
وانتقد كينتانا ما وصفه بغياب المعلومات والتوجيهات الواضحة للركاب خلال فترة الانتظار، رغم وجود فرق الطوارئ في محيط موقع الحادث.
وقال: «لم يخبرونا بأي شيء على الإطلاق؛ لا ما الذي ينبغي علينا فعله، ولا ما إذا كان أحد سيأتي لنقلنا، ولا حتى ما إذا كنا بخير»، وأشار إلى أن الركاب ظلوا ينتظرون الحصول على توجيهات واضحة قبل وصول عناصر الحرس المدني الإسباني.
تعليق حركة القطارات بين مدريد ومنطقة الأندلس
وأعلنت شركة «أديف» المشغلة للبنية التحتية للسكك الحديدية تعليق حركة القطارات فائقة السرعة بين مدريد ومنطقة الأندلس، عقب التصادم الذي وقع بين بلدتي لوس ييبينيس وأوردا، عند النقطة الكيلومترية 118، في تمام الساعة 8:54 صباحاً بالتوقيت المحلي.
ووفقاً للمعلومات الأولية، وقع الحادث بين قطار «AVE» تابع لشركة «رينفي»، يعمل على خط مدريد–إشبيلية وعلى متنه 397 راكباً، وقطار تابع لشركة «إيريو» كان يقل 147 راكباً.
وأشارت التقارير إلى أن قطار «AVE 2080» غادر مدريد في الساعة الثامنة صباحاً متجهاً إلى إشبيلية، قبل أن يصطدم بالقطار «إيريو 6076».
وأكدت شركة «أديف» أن قطار «رينفي» اصطدم بالقطار الآخر من الخلف، ما أدى إلى خروج عربتين من قطار «إيريو» عن القضبان.
وبحسب مصادر في قطاع السكك الحديدية، كان قطار «إيريو» متوقفاً وقت وقوع التصادم، فيما لحقت أضرار جسيمة بعدد من العربات، التي تحطمت أجزاء منها بفعل قوة الاصطدام.
عطل في نظام الإشارات واحتمال الخطأ البشري
وتشير المعلومات الأولية إلى أن حركة القطارات كانت تعمل بنظام «الحظر بالإشارات الجانبية» (BSL)، عقب حدوث عطل في نظام التحكم الآلي بالقطارات «LZB»، الذي يساهم في ضمان سلامة حركة القطارات فائقة السرعة.
وأثارت هذه المعطيات تساؤلات بشأن دور العطل الفني وظروف تشغيل الخط في وقوع الحادث، فيما أشارت الفرضيات الأولية الواردة في التقرير إلى احتمال وجود خطأ بشري.
لكن لم يُحسم السبب النهائي للتصادم، ولا تزال ملابساته بحاجة إلى تحقيق فني رسمي يحدد تسلسل الأحداث ومدى ارتباط العطل بنظام الإشارات بالحادث.
استنفار واسع لفرق الإنقاذ والإسعاف
وعقب الحادثة، دفعت السلطات الإسبانية بفرق إنقاذ وإسعاف إلى موقع التصادم، حيث شاركت فرق الإطفاء من مركزي ألكاثار دي سان خوان وأورغاز، إلى جانب عناصر من الحماية المدنية من عدة بلديات مجاورة.
كما شمل التدخل ثلاث مروحيات طبية ووحدتي عناية مركزة متنقلتين، لتقديم الإسعافات للمصابين ونقل الحالات الحرجة إلى المستشفيات.
وتواصل فرق الطوارئ جهودها في موقع الحادث، وسط صعوبات ناجمة عن الأضرار الكبيرة التي لحقت بالعربات، والحاجة إلى الوصول إلى الركاب العالقين والتأكد من الحصيلة النهائية للضحايا.
استدعاء وحدة الطوارئ العسكرية ورفع مستوى التأهب
وفي إطار توسيع الاستجابة، أجرى رئيس حكومة إقليم كاستيا لا مانتشا، إميليانو غارسيا باخ، اتصالاً بمسؤول عسكري رفيع لطلب مشاركة وحدة الطوارئ العسكرية الإسبانية (UME) في عمليات الإنقاذ والإغاثة.
كما رفعت حكومة الإقليم مستوى خطة الطوارئ الإقليمية «بلاتيكام» إلى المستوى الثاني، بما يسمح بتوسيع نطاق التنسيق وتعبئة الموارد اللازمة للتعامل مع الحادث.

The death toll from the collision of two passenger trains in the Toledo region of central Spain has risen to at least 50 dead and more than 179 injured, according to the civil protection authorities, in an incident that has reignited fears about the safety of the Spanish railway network, following months of another bloody train accident.
Quintana, who was on board the “Irio” train that was stopped at the time of the collision, stated that the passengers felt a violent and sudden jolt after the train had been stationary for about ten minutes.
He added in statements to the media: “It was terrifying because we had already been stopped for ten minutes, and suddenly I felt a hit.”
Shattered Cars and Shocking Scenes
The survivor explained that the collision of the “AVE” train belonging to Renfe with the other train caused scenes of panic among the passengers, amidst severe damage to the affected cars. He noted that the force of the impact was so great that it pushed the damaged train onto the adjacent track, indicating that some parts of the trains were severely destroyed.
He added: “The locomotives are shattered, and there are two completely destroyed cars at the back,” describing the extent of the damage he witnessed at the accident site.
Despite suffering minor bruises, Quintana expressed his shock at the human losses, affirming that some victims would not be able to recount what happened, and he said emotionally: “There are people who will not be able to tell what happened; it’s a tragedy, it’s a real tragedy.”
Criticism of the Lack of Information for Passengers
The suffering of the survivors was not limited to the shock from the collision but extended to the uncertainty surrounding their fate and the actions they needed to take after the incident.
Quintana criticized what he described as the absence of clear information and guidance for passengers during the waiting period, despite the presence of emergency teams in the vicinity of the accident site.
He said: “They didn’t tell us anything at all; not what we should do, nor whether someone would come to take us, not even if we were okay,” pointing out that the passengers remained waiting for clear instructions before the arrival of the Spanish Civil Guard.
Suspension of Train Services Between Madrid and Andalusia
The infrastructure operator “Adif” announced the suspension of high-speed train services between Madrid and the Andalusia region following the collision that occurred between the towns of Los Yébenes and Orduña, at kilometer point 118, at 8:54 AM local time.
According to preliminary information, the accident involved an “AVE” train belonging to Renfe, operating on the Madrid-Seville line with 397 passengers on board, and a train belonging to “Irio” that was carrying 147 passengers.
Reports indicated that the “AVE 2080” train left Madrid at 8 AM heading to Seville before colliding with the “Irio 6076” train.
Adif confirmed that the Renfe train collided with the other train from behind, causing two cars of the “Irio” train to derail.
According to sources in the railway sector, the “Irio” train was stationary at the time of the collision, while significant damage occurred to several cars, parts of which were shattered due to the force of the impact.
Signal System Failure and Possible Human Error
Initial information indicates that train operations were functioning under a “side signal blocking” (BSL) system following a failure in the automatic train control system “LZB,” which helps ensure the safety of high-speed train operations.
This information raised questions about the role of the technical failure and the operating conditions of the line in the occurrence of the accident, while initial hypotheses in the report suggested the possibility of human error.
However, the final cause of the collision has not been determined, and the circumstances surrounding it require an official technical investigation to clarify the sequence of events and the extent to which the signal system failure is related to the incident.
Wide Mobilization of Rescue and Medical Teams
Following the incident, Spanish authorities dispatched rescue and medical teams to the collision site, with firefighting teams from Alcázar de San Juan and Orgaz participating, along with civil protection personnel from several neighboring municipalities.
The intervention also included three medical helicopters and two mobile intensive care units to provide first aid to the injured and transport critical cases to hospitals.
Emergency teams continue their efforts at the accident site, amid difficulties arising from the extensive damage to the cars and the need to reach trapped passengers and confirm the final toll of victims.
Activation of Military Emergency Unit and Heightened Alert Level
As part of expanding the response, the President of the Castilla-La Mancha regional government, Emiliano García-Page, contacted a senior military official to request the participation of the Spanish Military Emergency Unit (UME) in the rescue and relief operations.
The regional government also raised the level of the regional emergency plan “Platicam” to level two, allowing for expanded coordination and mobilization of the necessary resources to deal with the incident.
