كانت حرب ما اصطُلح على تسميته «حرب الـ40 يوماً»، بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران، منذ 28 فبراير 2026، ولا تزال، اختباراً قاسياً لدول الخليج العربية، التي أجبرتها «الجغرافيا» على تحمّل التبعات الناجمة عن سياسات إيران منذ قيام ثورتها عام 1979. وكان ذلك بالغ الصعوبة بالنسبة إلى المملكة العربية السعودية، التي ترفض التدخلات الخارجية، وما يسمّى «تصدير الثورة الإسلامية»، ونوازع الهيمنة، وزعزعة استقرار الدول، وما تقود إليه من إرهاب، وتخريب، وقتل للأنفس البريئة.

وفي قلب هذه «التراجيديا» ظل ولي العهد الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز رافعاً شعار الحِكمة، شاهراً خيار «الصبر الاستراتيجي»، حرصاً على أمن مواطنيه والمقيمين في المملكة. وبتقليبٍ مُتأنٍّ في صفحات الأزمة الراهنة في المنطقة نكتشف أنه على رغم المخاطر الكبيرة استطاع الأمير محمد بن سلمان أن يقود الدفّة بسلام واقتدار، لتنجو البلاد والعباد من الصواريخ الباليستية «العمياء»، والمُسيّرات الهجومية.

وهو إنجاز يظل ماثلاً أمام الأعيُن بلا نهاية. فقد كانت المملكة الأقوى صموداً، والأكثر قدرة على تجاوز منعطف العنف من دون خسائر بشرية ومادية تُذكر. وهي مهمة ليست سهلة كما قد يتبادر لأذهان بعضهم، بل إن جوانبها الأكثر أهمية تتمثّل في جني ثمرات دبلوماسية تم تطويرها منذ العام 2015؛ دبلوماسية أدّت إلى تعزيز قدرات القوات المسلحة السعودية، في مسار تتواصل فيه التنمية، وتحديث البلاد، وتطوير الاقتصاد، وإعادة هيكلته، وتكثيف العمل على النهوض بالإنسان السعودي، تطويراً، وتعليماً، وتوظيفاً، واهتماماً صحياً، ومجتمعياً، وانفتاحاً استثمارياً واجتماعياً قفز بالسعودية إلى صدارة البلدان الجاذبة للرساميل الأجنبية.

ويظهر تفرّد سياسة القيادة السعودية ودبلوماسيتها من خلال ما تحقّق من إنجازات في جميع أوجه الحياة. وفي الصدارة تحوّل المملكة إلى واحة تنعم بالأمن، ويعيش أهلها والمقيمون على أرضها في أمان من تبعات الأوضاع الراهنة، في وقت تعتبر فيه إيران المملكة «تابعاً» لخصمها الولايات المتحدة. وهو خَطَلٌ بَيِّنٌ في تفكير طهران؛ إذ إن العلاقة بين الرياض وواشنطن قائمة ووثيقة منذ تأسيسها نهاية ثلاثينات القرن العشرين، وهو تحالف يحترم سيادة المملكة على أراضيها، وثرواتها، وقرارات قياداتها وحكوماتها المتعاقبة.

لقد بذل ولي العهد جهوداً مكثّفة على تطوير القوات المسلحة، وتجهيزها بأفضل أنظمة التسلّح، حتى أضحت قادرة على صد هجمات المعتدين. ومع ذلك ظل ولي العهد حريصاً على «حُسن الجوار» مع إيران، وحق شعبها في السلم والنماء والتقدّم. وقد تجلى ذلك غير مرة من خلال إعلان الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أخيراً أنه بطلب من ولي العهد السعودي قرّر تأجيل هجمات مدمّرة ينوي شنّها على إيران. ويقف الأمير محمد بن سلمان بصلابة وراء الحليف القوي باكستان، وهي تقوم بأصعب وساطة بين واشنطن وطهران.

ويتحمّل ولي العهد السعودي أعباءً كثيرة وكثيرة، فهو لا يحارب في جبهة حماية بلاده من الأذى الإيراني فحسب؛ بل يحارب على جبهات عدة في آنٍ معاً: هيكلة الاقتصاد، تنفيذ مشاريع رؤية 2030، قيادة سوق النفط الدولية بما يحافظ على استقرارها، وتواصل تقديم إمدادات النفط، والاضطلاع بدور المملكة في مجموعة الدول الـ20 الأكبر اقتصاداً في العالم، ودعم استقرار الدول المتضررة من العنف والزعزعة، مثل لبنان والعراق وسورية والسودان، واليمن.

الأكيد أن الأمير محمد بن سلمان نجح في اجتياز كل «مطبّات» السياسة الدولية، ومخاطر الزعزعة والهيمنة، بعقلية تتكئ على الحكمة، والصبر، ودبلوماسية متفردة واعية تدرك أهمية تحقيق المصالح العليا، مع تقديم المرونة المطلوبة لتذليل العقبات وإزالة المعوقات وتعزيز التفاهمات مع الدول والتحالفات والكيانات. ولو شئناً توصيفاً أدق يمكننا القول إنها دبلوماسية سعودية أثبتت كل يوم قدرتها على إحداث نقلات نوعية في مجالات العلاقات الخارجية كافة. وتنعكس تلك النقلات خيراً واستقراراً على إنسان الداخل، الذي يعيش حياته وهو ينعم بالأمان، ووفرة السلع، واستقرار سلاسل الإمداد، حتى في ظل الأزمات الكبيرة والحروب الراهنة.

The war commonly referred to as the “40-Day War” between the United States and Iran began on February 28, 2026, and continues to be a harsh test for the Gulf Arab states, which have been forced by “geography” to bear the consequences of Iran’s policies since the revolution in 1979. This has been particularly difficult for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which rejects foreign interventions, what is known as the “export of the Islamic revolution,” aspirations for hegemony, and destabilizing countries, along with the terrorism, destruction, and killing of innocent lives that it leads to.

At the heart of this “tragedy,” Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz has raised the banner of wisdom, brandishing the option of “strategic patience,” in order to ensure the safety of his citizens and residents in the Kingdom. A careful examination of the current crisis in the region reveals that despite the significant risks, Prince Mohammed bin Salman has managed to steer the course with peace and competence, allowing the country and its people to escape the “blind” ballistic missiles and offensive drones.

This achievement remains ever-present before our eyes. The Kingdom has been the most resilient and capable of navigating the turn of violence without significant human and material losses. This is not an easy task as some might think; rather, its most important aspects lie in reaping the fruits of diplomacy developed since 2015—a diplomacy that has enhanced the capabilities of the Saudi armed forces, in a path where development, modernization of the country, economic restructuring, and intensifying efforts to uplift the Saudi citizen through development, education, employment, health care, and community engagement, as well as investment and social openness, have propelled Saudi Arabia to the forefront of countries attracting foreign capital.

The uniqueness of Saudi leadership and diplomacy is evident in the achievements realized across all aspects of life. At the forefront is the transformation of the Kingdom into an oasis of security, where its people and residents live free from the repercussions of the current situation, at a time when Iran considers the Kingdom a “follower” of its rival, the United States. This is a clear fallacy in Tehran’s thinking; the relationship between Riyadh and Washington has been established and close since its founding in the late 1930s, a partnership that respects the Kingdom’s sovereignty over its lands, resources, and the decisions of its successive leaderships and governments.

The Crown Prince has made intensive efforts to develop the armed forces and equip them with the best weapon systems, making them capable of repelling aggressors’ attacks. Nevertheless, the Crown Prince remains keen on “good neighborliness” with Iran and the right of its people to peace, growth, and progress. This has been evident on more than one occasion, including the recent announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump that, at the request of the Saudi Crown Prince, he decided to postpone devastating attacks he intended to launch on Iran. Prince Mohammed bin Salman stands firmly behind the strong ally Pakistan, which is undertaking the most challenging mediation between Washington and Tehran.

The Saudi Crown Prince bears many burdens; he is not only fighting on the front of protecting his country from Iranian harm but is also fighting on multiple fronts simultaneously: restructuring the economy, implementing Vision 2030 projects, leading the international oil market to maintain its stability, continuing to provide oil supplies, fulfilling the Kingdom’s role in the Group of Twenty (G20) largest economies in the world, and supporting the stability of countries affected by violence and turmoil, such as Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, and Yemen.

It is certain that Prince Mohammed bin Salman has succeeded in navigating all the “potholes” of international politics and the risks of destabilization and hegemony, with a mindset grounded in wisdom, patience, and a unique, conscious diplomacy that recognizes the importance of achieving higher interests while providing the necessary flexibility to overcome obstacles and enhance understandings with countries, alliances, and entities. If we were to describe it more accurately, we could say it is a Saudi diplomacy that proves every day its ability to bring about qualitative shifts in all areas of foreign relations. These shifts reflect positively and stably on the people at home, who live their lives in safety, with an abundance of goods and stable supply chains, even amid significant crises and ongoing wars.
