أعلنت وكالة الفضاء الأمريكية (ناسا) أن مركبة الشحن الفضائية Cargo Dragon التابعة لشركة SpaceX من المقرر أن تنفصل اليوم الثلاثاء عن المحطة الفضائية الدولية، في ختام مهمة الإمداد التجاري الـ34 (CRS-34)، محملة بعينات لتجارب علمية أجريت في المحطة.
ومن المتوقع أن تعود المركبة إلى الأرض يوم غدٍ الأربعاء، إذ ستهبط في مياه المحيط الهادئ قبالة سواحل كاليفورنيا في ساعات الصباح الباكر حوالى الساعة 5:08 صباحاً بتوقيت المحيط الهادئ.
وكانت المركبة «دراغون» قد وصلت إلى المحطة في 17 مايو، محملة بنحو 6,500 رطل (حوالى 2,950 كيلوغراماً) من الإمدادات والمعدات والتجارب العلمية، ودعمت طاقم بعثة Expedition 74 خلال فترة إقامتها.
وتُعد مركبة Cargo Dragon إحدى أبرز وسائل الشحن الفضائي المعاد استخدامها، وقد أجرت رحلتها السادسة، حيث ساهمت المهمة في دعم عشرات التجارب العلمية في بيئة الجاذبية الصفرية، بما في ذلك دراسات حول صحة الإنسان، تشكل العظام، سلوك البكتيريا، وتقنيات تخزين الوقود المبرد لمهمات المستقبل إلى القمر والمريخ.
ومن أبرز العينات العلمية العائدة على متنها: أنسجة عضوية وغضروفية مطبوعة حيوياً، وعينات خلايا جذعية ونماذج لأمراض الدم والسرطان، ومواد مستوحاة من الـDNA لتطوير علاجات جديدة للسرطان، وبلورات أشباه الموصلات المزروعة في الفضاء، وبيانات حول تخزين الوقود المبرد ودراسات ميكروبية.
ستخضع هذه العينات لتحليلات معمقة على الأرض، لتعزيز فهم تأثير الجاذبية الصفرية على جسم الإنسان والمواد، مما يساهم في تطوير تقنيات الاستكشاف الفضائي بعيد المدى وتحقيق فوائد طبية وتكنولوجية على كوكب الأرض.
وأكدت ناسا أنها ستبث انفصال المركبة مباشرة، بينما لن يتم بث عملية الهبوط، لكنها ستنشر تحديثات دورية عبر مدونتها الرسمية.
يأتي هذا الحدث ضمن برنامج الخدمات التجارية لإعادة الإمداد الذي يعتمد عليه التعاون الدولي في إدارة المحطة الفضائية الدولية، التي تعد أكبر منصة بحثية علمية في الفضاء.
The American space agency (NASA) announced that the Cargo Dragon spacecraft from SpaceX is scheduled to detach today, Tuesday, from the International Space Station, concluding the 34th Commercial Resupply Services mission (CRS-34), carrying samples for scientific experiments conducted at the station.
The spacecraft is expected to return to Earth tomorrow, Wednesday, landing in the waters of the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California in the early morning hours around 5:08 AM Pacific Time.
The “Dragon” spacecraft arrived at the station on May 17, carrying approximately 6,500 pounds (about 2,950 kilograms) of supplies, equipment, and scientific experiments, supporting the crew of Expedition 74 during their stay.
The Cargo Dragon spacecraft is one of the most prominent reusable space cargo vehicles, having completed its sixth flight, and the mission contributed to supporting dozens of scientific experiments in a zero-gravity environment, including studies on human health, bone formation, bacterial behavior, and cryogenic fuel storage techniques for future missions to the Moon and Mars.
Among the notable scientific samples returning on board are: bio-printed organic and cartilage tissues, stem cell samples, models of blood diseases and cancer, DNA-inspired materials for developing new cancer treatments, semiconductor crystals grown in space, and data on cryogenic fuel storage and microbial studies.
These samples will undergo in-depth analyses on Earth to enhance understanding of the effects of zero gravity on the human body and materials, contributing to the development of long-range space exploration technologies and achieving medical and technological benefits on planet Earth.
NASA confirmed that it will broadcast the spacecraft’s separation live, while the landing process will not be broadcasted; however, it will provide periodic updates through its official blog.
This event is part of the Commercial Resupply Services program, which relies on international cooperation in managing the International Space Station, the largest scientific research platform in space.
