أتلف مشروع «مسام» لنزع الألغام باليمن، اليوم (الخميس)، 4076 قطعة من الألغام والذخائر غير المنفجرة ومخلفات الحرب، في منطقة دوفس بمحافظة أبين وسط البلاد.
ونفذ فريق المهمات الخاصة الأول التابع للمشروع عملية الإتلاف، في إطار الجهود المتواصلة التي يبذلها المشروع لتطهير الأراضي اليمنية من الألغام والعبوات الناسفة ومخلفات الحرب التي تهدد حياة المدنيين.
وشملت المواد التي تم إتلافها 219 قذيفة متنوعة، و3570 طلقة ذخيرة، و255 فيوزاً متنوعة، و12 لغماً مضاداً للأفراد، و5 ألغام مضادة للدبابات، و11 قنبلة يدوية، إضافة إلى 3 صواريخ وعبوة ناسفة.
وأوضح قائد فريق المهمات الخاصة المهندس منذر قاسم أن فريقه يتعامل على مدار الساعة مع البلاغات والمناشدات الواردة من المواطنين والسلطات المحلية في محافظات عدن وأبين ولحج، بهدف تفادي مخاطر مخلفات الحرب والعبوات الناسفة المنتشرة في بعض المناطق، وتأمينها والتخلص منها لاحقاً ضمن عمليات الإتلاف الدورية التي ينفذها المشروع، مؤكداً أن الفريق تلقى أخيرا بلاغاً من إدارة محافظة لحج يفيد بوجود عبوة ناسفة، وعلى الفور تحرك إلى الموقع، وتعامل مع البلاغ، وقام بتفكيك العبوة الناسفة وتأمين المكان.
يُذكر أن مشروع «مسام» لنزع الألغام باليمن يواصل جهوده الإنسانية في عدد من المحافظات اليمنية المحررة، من خلال إزالة الألغام ومخلفات الحرب والتعامل مع البلاغات الطارئة، بما يسهم في حماية أرواح المدنيين وتأمين المناطق المتضررة.
The “Masam” project for mine clearance in Yemen today (Thursday) destroyed 4,076 pieces of unexploded mines, munitions, and war remnants in the Dofas area of Abyan Governorate in the center of the country.
The first special missions team of the project carried out the destruction operation as part of the ongoing efforts made by the project to clear Yemeni lands of mines, explosive devices, and war remnants that threaten civilian lives.
The materials that were destroyed included 219 various shells, 3,570 rounds of ammunition, 255 various fuses, 12 anti-personnel mines, 5 anti-tank mines, 11 hand grenades, in addition to 3 rockets and an explosive device.
The leader of the special missions team, engineer Munther Qassem, explained that his team is working around the clock to address reports and appeals from citizens and local authorities in the governorates of Aden, Abyan, and Lahij, aiming to avoid the dangers of war remnants and explosive devices scattered in some areas, securing them, and disposing of them later as part of the periodic destruction operations carried out by the project. He confirmed that the team recently received a report from the Lahij Governorate administration indicating the presence of an explosive device, and immediately moved to the site, addressed the report, dismantled the explosive device, and secured the area.
It is worth noting that the “Masam” project for mine clearance in Yemen continues its humanitarian efforts in several liberated Yemeni governorates by removing mines and war remnants and dealing with emergency reports, contributing to the protection of civilian lives and securing affected areas.
