علمت «عكاظ» من مصادرها الخاصة أن شركة النادي الأهلي تدرس مقترحاً يختص بإلغاء جميع الألعاب المختلفة في النادي والاكتفاء بلعبة كرة القدم بجميع فئاتها.
وأشارت المصادر إلى أن المقترح يلقى قبولاً من غالبية الأعضاء على أن تتم دراسة جوانبه كافة، واتخاذ القرار النهائي خلال الفترة القريبة القادمة.
يُشار إلى أن النادي الأهلي يعتبر أكثر الأندية السعودية تحقيقاً للبطولات في الألعاب المختلفة عبر التاريخ، إذ تجاوزت بطولاته، وفقاً للعديد من الإحصاءات، أكثر من 1,300 بطولة ومنجز في مختلف الألعاب الرياضية، وكان فريق كرة السلة في النادي قد أنهى الموسم الماضي وصيفاً لبطل الدوري فريق العلا، فيما يعتبر فريق كرة الطائرة من أهم أعمدة اللعبة وأكثرها إنجازات عبر التاريخ، والأمر ذاته ينطبق على فريق كرة اليد.

The club’s basketball team finished last season as the runner-up to the league champion, Al-Ula team, while the volleyball team is regarded as one of the most important pillars of the sport and has the most achievements in history, and the same applies to the handball team.
