اندلع حريق كبير داخل محل لبيع الملابس ملاصق لمدرسة إعدادية للبنين في محافظة الجيزة بمصر، ما أدى إلى إصابة 51 طالباً بحالات اختناق بسبب الأدخنة الكثيفة التي غمرت المكان.
البداية كانت ببلاغ لغرفة عمليات الحماية المدنية عن اشتعال النيران في المنشأة التجارية. وبفعل المواد سريعة الاشتعال، تصاعدت سحب دخان كثيفة امتدت سريعاً إلى داخل الفصول، ما تسبب في حالات ضيق تنفس وإغماءات بين الطلاب.
إدارة المدرسة تحركت فوراً، حيث جرى إخلاء الطلاب بالتنسيق مع الجهات المختصة، بينما دفعت هيئة الإسعاف بأكثر من 15 سيارة لنقل المصابين إلى المستشفيات القريبة لتلقي الرعاية اللازمة.
في الوقت نفسه، تمكنت قوات الحماية المدنية من السيطرة على الحريق ومنع امتداده إلى مبنى المدرسة أو العقارات المجاورة.
مصادر طبية أوضحت أن معظم الحالات راوحت بين البسيطة والمتوسطة، وغادر أغلب الطلاب بعد تلقي الأكسجين، فيما بقي عدد محدود تحت الملاحظة.
وتشير التحقيقات الأولية إلى أن تماساً كهربائياً قد يكون السبب وراء اندلاع الحريق.
A large fire broke out inside a clothing store adjacent to a boys’ preparatory school in Giza Governorate, Egypt, resulting in 51 students suffering from cases of suffocation due to the thick smoke that engulfed the area.
The incident began with a report to the civil defense operations room about the outbreak of fire in the commercial establishment. Due to the flammable materials, thick smoke clouds quickly spread into the classrooms, causing cases of shortness of breath and fainting among the students.
The school administration acted immediately, evacuating the students in coordination with the relevant authorities, while the ambulance service dispatched more than 15 vehicles to transport the injured to nearby hospitals for necessary care.
At the same time, the civil defense forces managed to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to the school building or neighboring properties.
Medical sources indicated that most cases ranged from mild to moderate, and most students left after receiving oxygen, while a limited number remained under observation.
Preliminary investigations suggest that an electrical short circuit may have been the cause of the fire.
