دانت مصر بأشد العبارات الهجوم الإيراني الآثم الذي استهدف مطار الكويت الدولي، وما أسفر عنه من قتل وإصابات وأضرار جسيمة بمرافق المطار، معتبرة هذا الهجوم «انتهاكاً صارخاً لسيادة دولة الكويت» وسلامة أراضيها، وتصعيداً خطيراً من شأنه تهديد أمن واستقرار منطقة الخليج العربي والمنطقة بأسرها.
وأكدت مصر مساندتها الكاملة لدولة الكويت في مواجهة هذا الاعتداء الآثم، وتضامنها الراسخ مع الحكومة والشعب الكويتي، ودعمها لكل ما تتخذه من تدابير لصون أمنها واستقرارها وحماية أراضيها ومنشآتها الحيوية.
وجددت مصر تأكيدها أن أمن دول الخليج العربي واستقرارها يمثلان ركيزة أساسية للأمن القومي العربي، وترفض رفضاً قاطعاً أي أعمال أو ممارسات تنطوي على انتهاك لسيادة الدول أو تهديد لأمنها وسلامة أراضيها، بما يهدد أمن واستقرار المنطقة بأسرها.
وكانت الكويت أعلنت أن اعتداء بطائرات مسيّرة وصواريخ إيرانية استهدف مبنى الركاب الرئيسي (Terminal 1) في مطار البلاج، مما أسفر عن مقتل شخص واحد وإصابة آخرين، إضافة إلى أضرار جسيمة في مرافق المطار وخزانات الوقود.
Egypt strongly condemned the heinous Iranian attack that targeted Kuwait International Airport, which resulted in deaths, injuries, and significant damage to airport facilities, considering this attack a “blatant violation of the sovereignty of the State of Kuwait” and its territorial integrity, and a serious escalation that threatens the security and stability of the Gulf region and the entire area.
Egypt affirmed its full support for the State of Kuwait in facing this heinous aggression, its steadfast solidarity with the Kuwaiti government and people, and its support for all measures taken to safeguard its security and stability and protect its territory and vital installations.
Egypt reiterated that the security and stability of the Gulf Arab states represent a fundamental pillar of Arab national security, and it categorically rejects any acts or practices that involve a violation of the sovereignty of states or threaten their security and territorial integrity, which jeopardizes the security and stability of the entire region.
Kuwait had announced that an attack by Iranian drones and missiles targeted the main passenger terminal (Terminal 1) at the airport, resulting in one death and several injuries, in addition to significant damage to airport facilities and fuel tanks.
