أثارت شكاوى متداولة على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي في مصر، بشأن تضرر محصول البطيخ بمنطقة البرلس التابعة لمركز بلطيم بمحافظة كفر الشيخ حالة من الجدل بين المزارعين، قبل أن تتدخل وزارة الزراعة المصرية بشكل عاجل لفحص الواقعة ميدانيًا.
وكشفت نتائج اللجان الفنية والعلمية التي شكلتها الوزارة أن المشكلة تقتصر على مساحة 7.5 فدان فقط من إجمالي نحو 3500 فدان مزروعة بالبطيخ في المنطقة، مؤكدة أن السبب الرئيسي يعود إلى ممارسات زراعية خاطئة، فيما تتمتع باقي المساحات بحالة إنتاجية وصحية مستقرة.
وبحسب بيان رسمي صادر عن وزارة الزراعة المصرية، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، وجّه الوزير علاء فاروق بسرعة فحص الشكوى ميدانيًا، والوقوف على أسباب تراجع إنتاجية بعض الزراعات التي أثيرت بشأنها تساؤلات عبر منصات التواصل الاجتماعي.
وأكدت وزارة الزراعة أن أزمة تضرر محصول البطيخ المتداولة أخيرا عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي في منطقة البرلس التابعة لمركز بلطيم بمحافظة كفر الشيخ، تقتصر على مساحة محدودة لا تتجاوز 7.5 فدان فقط، من إجمالي نحو 3500 فدان مزروعة بالبطيخ في المنطقة، مشددة على أن باقي المساحات تتمتع بحالة إنتاجية وصحية مستقرة.
وبحسب البيان، تحركت لجنة أولية من مديرية الزراعة بمحافظة كفر الشيخ لإجراء معاينة عاجلة، أعقبها تشكيل لجنة علمية وميدانية موسعة ضمت متخصصين من الإدارة المركزية للمحاصيل، والإدارة المركزية لفحص واعتماد التقاوي، والمعاهد البحثية المختصة، إلى جانب مسؤولي المتابعة والبساتين بمديرية الزراعة وإدارة بلطيم الزراعية.
وأظهرت نتائج الفحص الميداني أن محصول البطيخ المزروع في نطاق مركز بلطيم يتمتع بشكل عام بحالة نمو جيدة وإنتاجية مستقرة، فيما انحصرت المشكلة في مساحة محدودة فقط، وهو ما اعتبرته الوزارة مؤشرًا على عدم وجود أزمة عامة تهدد المحصول في المنطقة.
وأشار تقرير اللجنة العلمية المشتركة إلى أن النباتات محل الشكوى أظهرت نموًا خضريًا قويًا وكثيفًا، إلا أن ضعف الإنتاجية ارتبط بعدد من الممارسات الزراعية الخاطئة، دون وجود مؤشرات على إصابات مرضية أو مشكلات تتعلق بالتقاوي المعتمدة.
وأضافت الوزارة أن اللجان الفنية قدمت حزمة من التوصيات والإرشادات العاجلة للمزارع صاحب الشكوى بهدف تحسين معدلات الإنتاج وجودة المحصول خلال المراحل المقبلة، مع استمرار أعمال المتابعة والدعم الفني من جانب الأجهزة الزراعية المختصة.
وشددت وزارة الزراعة على أهمية التزام المزارعين بالإرشادات الفنية المعتمدة، واستخدام التقاوي والشتلات من المصادر الرسمية المرخصة، لتجنب أي مشكلات تؤثر على الإنتاج أو جودة المحاصيل، مؤكدة استمرار جهودها في دعم المزارعين والحفاظ على استقرار منظومة الأمن الغذائي.
وتُعد محافظة كفر الشيخ، خصوصا مناطق البرلس وبلطيم، من أبرز المناطق الزراعية المنتجة لمحصول البطيخ في مصر، حيث يعتمد عدد كبير من المزارعين على المحصول كمصدر رئيسي للدخل خلال الموسم الصيفي.
Complaints circulating on social media in Egypt regarding damage to the watermelon crop in the Burullus area of the Baltim Center in Kafr El Sheikh Governorate have sparked a debate among farmers, prompting the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture to intervene urgently to investigate the matter on-site.
The results of the technical and scientific committees formed by the ministry revealed that the problem is limited to an area of only 7.5 acres out of a total of approximately 3,500 acres planted with watermelon in the region, confirming that the main reason is due to incorrect agricultural practices, while the remaining areas enjoy stable production and health conditions.
According to an official statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture today (Tuesday), Minister Alaa Farouk directed an urgent on-site investigation of the complaint and to identify the reasons for the decline in productivity of some crops that have raised questions on social media platforms.
The Ministry of Agriculture confirmed that the issue of damage to the watermelon crop recently circulating on social media in the Burullus area of the Baltim Center in Kafr El Sheikh Governorate is limited to a specific area not exceeding 7.5 acres, out of a total of approximately 3,500 acres planted with watermelon in the region, emphasizing that the remaining areas enjoy stable production and health conditions.
According to the statement, a preliminary committee from the Kafr El Sheikh Agriculture Directorate moved to conduct an urgent inspection, followed by the formation of an expanded scientific and field committee that included specialists from the Central Administration for Crops, the Central Administration for Seed Testing and Approval, and relevant research institutes, along with monitoring and orchard officials from the Agriculture Directorate and the Baltim Agricultural Administration.
The results of the field inspection showed that the watermelon crop planted within the Baltim Center generally enjoys good growth and stable productivity, while the problem was confined to a limited area only, which the ministry considered an indicator that there is no general crisis threatening the crop in the region.
The report from the joint scientific committee indicated that the plants in question showed strong and dense vegetative growth; however, the low productivity was linked to several incorrect agricultural practices, with no signs of disease infections or issues related to the approved seeds.
The ministry added that the technical committees provided a package of urgent recommendations and guidance to the complaining farmer aimed at improving production rates and crop quality during the upcoming stages, while continuing monitoring and technical support from the relevant agricultural authorities.
The Ministry of Agriculture emphasized the importance of farmers adhering to the approved technical guidelines and using seeds and seedlings from licensed official sources to avoid any issues affecting production or crop quality, confirming its ongoing efforts to support farmers and maintain the stability of the food security system.
Kafr El Sheikh Governorate, particularly the Burullus and Baltim areas, is considered one of the prominent agricultural regions producing watermelon in Egypt, where a large number of farmers rely on the crop as a primary source of income during the summer season.
