قُتل ثمانية أشخاص، بينهم طفلان وامرأة حامل، في حادث إطلاق نار مروّع داخل منزل بمدينة إيري في ولاية بنسلفانيا الأمريكية، قبل أن يُقدم منفذ الهجوم على إنهاء حياته، لترتفع الحصيلة الإجمالية إلى تسع وفيات، وفق ما أعلنته السلطات المحلية السبت (10 أكتوبر 2026).
ونقلت وكالة أسوشيتد برس عن قائد شرطة إيري، ريك لوراه، أن منفذ الهجوم رجل يبلغ من العمر 45 عاماً، وأن سبعة من الضحايا تربطهم به صلة قرابة، فيما كانت الضحية الثامنة صديقة لإحدى الضحايا، وهي امرأة حامل.
تفاصيل الهجوم
وأوضحت الشرطة أن الحادث وقع عصر الجمعة داخل منزل بشارع بيري، حيث أظهرت تسجيلات صوتية ومرئية حصل عليها المحققون سماع طلقات نارية من داخل المنزل، قبل وصول امرأتين حاولتا طرق الباب لمعرفة ما يجري.
وبحسب التحقيقات الأولية، خرج المسلح من المنزل وأطلق النار على المرأتين أثناء اقترابهما منه، ما أدى إلى مقتلهما، قبل أن يعود إلى الداخل.
وعند وصول عناصر الشرطة، عثروا على جثتي المرأتين خارج المنزل، فيما استعانت الفرق الأمنية بطائرة مسيّرة وروبوت لاستكشاف الموقع قبل دخوله.
طفلان بين الضحايا
وكشفت السلطات أن الضحايا شملوا طفلاً يبلغ من العمر خمس سنوات وطفلة تبلغ عاماً واحداً، عُثر على جثتيهما في الطابق الأول، إلى جانب امرأتين وشابين عُثر عليهم في منطقة الدرج داخل المنزل.
كما عثرت الشرطة على جثة منفذ الهجوم في الطابق الثاني، ورجّحت أنه توفي نتيجة إصابة بطلق ناري أطلقه على نفسه.
وأفادت تقارير محلية بأن إحدى الضحايا كانت تبلغ 24 عاماً وحاملاً في شهرها الثامن.
تحقيقات لكشف دوافع الجريمة
وأكد قائد الشرطة أن المحققين لم يتوصلوا بعد إلى الدافع وراء الجريمة، مشيراً إلى أن التحقيقات ستشمل الاستماع إلى إفادات أفراد آخرين من العائلة وفحص الهواتف المحمولة لبعض الضحايا، سعياً إلى تحديد الملابسات التي سبقت إطلاق النار.
وأوضح أن عناصر الشرطة وصلت إلى الموقع خلال دقائق من تلقي تنبيه عبر نظام «ShotSpotter»، الذي يستخدم أجهزة استشعار صوتية وتقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي لرصد أصوات إطلاق النار وتحديد مواقعها.
وشدد على أن جميع عمليات إطلاق النار وقعت قبل وصول الشرطة، نافياً التقارير التي تحدثت عن استمرار إطلاق النار أثناء محاصرة المنزل.
حزن واسع في بنسلفانيا
وأعرب حاكم ولاية بنسلفانيا، جوش شابيرو، عن تعازيه لأسر الضحايا، مؤكداً استعداد إدارته لتقديم الدعم اللازم للسلطات المحلية وسكان المدينة.
من جانبها، وصفت رئيسة بلدية إيري، داريا ديفلين، الحادث بأنه مأساة أصابت المجتمع المحلي بصدمة كبيرة، مؤكدة تضامن المدينة مع عائلات الضحايا.
ودعت المدعية العامة المحلية، إليزابيث هيرز، إلى تجنب نشر الشائعات والتكهنات بشأن دوافع الجريمة، حفاظاً على سير التحقيقات ومراعاة لمشاعر أسر الضحايا.
Eight people, including two children and a pregnant woman, were killed in a horrific shooting incident inside a home in Erie, Pennsylvania, before the shooter took his own life, raising the total death toll to nine, according to local authorities on Saturday (October 10, 2026).
The Associated Press reported that Erie Police Chief Rick Lorah stated that the shooter was a 45-year-old man, and that seven of the victims were related to him, while the eighth victim was a friend of one of the victims, who was a pregnant woman.
Details of the Attack
The police explained that the incident occurred on Friday afternoon inside a home on Perry Street, where audio and video recordings obtained by investigators captured gunfire from inside the house before two women arrived trying to knock on the door to find out what was happening.
According to initial investigations, the gunman came out of the house and shot at the two women as they approached him, resulting in their deaths, before returning inside.
When police officers arrived, they found the bodies of the two women outside the house, while security teams used a drone and a robot to explore the site before entering.
Children Among the Victims
Authorities revealed that the victims included a five-year-old boy and a one-year-old girl, whose bodies were found on the first floor, along with two women and two young men found in the stairwell inside the house.
The police also found the shooter’s body on the second floor, and it is believed he died from a gunshot wound he inflicted on himself.
Local reports indicated that one of the victims was 24 years old and eight months pregnant.
Investigations to Uncover the Motive
The police chief confirmed that investigators have not yet determined the motive behind the crime, noting that the investigations will include interviewing other family members and examining the mobile phones of some victims, in an effort to clarify the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
He explained that police arrived at the scene within minutes of receiving an alert through the “ShotSpotter” system, which uses acoustic sensors and artificial intelligence technology to detect gunfire sounds and pinpoint their locations.
He emphasized that all gunfire incidents occurred before the police arrived, denying reports that gunfire continued during the standoff at the house.
Widespread Mourning in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro expressed his condolences to the victims’ families, affirming his administration’s readiness to provide necessary support to local authorities and the city’s residents.
For her part, Erie Mayor Daria Devlin described the incident as a tragedy that has shocked the local community, emphasizing the city’s solidarity with the victims’ families.
Local District Attorney Elizabeth Hersh called for avoiding the spread of rumors and speculation regarding the motives of the crime, in order to preserve the integrity of the investigations and out of respect for the feelings of the victims’ families.
