تتميز مكة المكرمة أنها مدينة فريدة تتقاطع فيها الأبعاد الدينية والتاريخية والثقافية، لتجعلها ذاكرة حية ذات هوية منفردة، تقدم تجربة روحانية ومعرفية وثقافية متكاملة تشبع تجربة زائرها، خاصة مع اكتمال تهيئة مواقعها التاريخية، حيث عملت الهيئة الملكية لتطوير العاصمة المقدسة على تفعيل إستراتيجية المواقع التاريخية والإثرائية خلال عامي 2024 و2025، شمل تطوير منظومة متكاملة من الحوكمة، والنماذج التشغيلية، والاستدامة، وتقييم الأداء، ودراسة التراث اللامادي، بما يعكس انتقالاً من إدارة المواقع بوصفها أصولاً ثابتة، إلى التعامل معها بوصفها منظومة تجربة متكاملة، ذات أبعاد معرفية واقتصادية وثقافية !
نتحدث اليوم عن 23 موقعاً تاريخياً إثرائياً مهيأة للزيارة، حيث يجد زائر مكة المكرمة نفسه أمام مواقع تاريخية مفتوحة، مساجد ذات دلالات وجدانية عميقة، متاحف متخصصة، مراكز ثقافية، ومساحات عامة تجسر ارتباط الإنسان بالمكان، من جبل النور ومسار الصعود، إلى جبل الرحمة، ومسجد البيعة، ومساجد ذات حضور في السيرة والتاريخ، وصولاً إلى متاحف القرآن الكريم والسيرة النبوية وعمارة الحرمين، حيث تتشكّل تجربة متنوعة، تمتزج فيها حواس المشاهدة بمشاعر التأمل !
ومن بين هذه المواقع، تبرز عين زبيدة بوصفها واحدة من أعمق الشواهد على التقاء الإيمان بالهندسة، والرحمة بالفعل الحضاري. فعلى امتداد أكثر من ألف عام، ظل هذا المشروع المائي شاهداً على جهدٍ إنساني استثنائي خُصِّص لخدمة ضيوف الرحمن، قبل أن يُعاد اليوم تقديمه كموقع مهيأ للزيارة، يتيح للزائر الاقتراب من خبايا قصته ضمن بيئة منظمة ومرافق مدروسة، تكشف أبعاده التاريخية والهندسية دون إخلال بأصالة المكان. هناك، لا يطّلع الزائر على أثرٍ محفوظ وحسب، بل يعيش تجربة معرفية تُعيد وصل الماضي بالحاضر، وتمنح الماء قصته، والمكان ذاكرته، والزيارة معناها العميق !
كما برزت أهمية إنشاء مراكز الزوار وتفعيل مواقع التوثيق بتمكين الزائر من القيام برحلة معرفية تبني فيها ذكريات ثمينة لا تنسى، وإقامة روابط عاطفية مع التاريخ والمكان بما يعمّق أثر الزيارة ويمنحها قيمة زمنية تتجاوز اللحظة إلى الخلود في الذاكرة !
أما مشروع «مسارات مكة»، فيمثل انتقالاً نوعياً في تكوين هوية متفردة لمكة، تجمع بين الروحي والتاريخي والثقافي، وتعيد ترتيب العلاقة بين المواقع، لا بوصفها نقاطاً متفرقة في رحلة الزائر، بل كحكاية تُروى مدى الحياة، ناهيك عن الهوية البصرية التي يقدمها برج الساعة ويسهم فيها تطوير مركز علوم الكون بإشباع رضا الزائر وتقديم نموذج لامتزاج الاستثمار في المحتوى والمادة !
لقد نجحت الهيئة الملكية للعاصمة المقدسة في نظم إيقاع التطوير والتخطيط والتفعيل، وأسهمت في تهيئة المواقع وتعزيز الوصول إليها، ضمن رؤية أشمل لإعادة تقديم مكة بما يليق بمكانتها، دون إخلال بخصوصيتها أو قدسيتها !
باختصار.. في زمن تتسارع فيه المدن نحو الحداثة، تبدو مكة المكرمة وهي تستثمر في ذاكرتها لتصنع هويتها المتفردة كمدينة لا تسكن وجدان أهلها وحدهم، بل الملايين الذين يزورونها بلا توقف من جميع أنحاء العالم !
Makkah Al-Mukarramah is distinguished as a unique city where religious, historical, and cultural dimensions intersect, making it a living memory with a distinct identity. It offers a spiritual, cognitive, and cultural experience that satisfies its visitors, especially with the completion of the preparation of its historical sites. The Royal Commission for the Development of Makkah has been working on activating the strategy for historical and enriching sites during the years 2024 and 2025, which includes the development of an integrated system of governance, operational models, sustainability, performance evaluation, and the study of intangible heritage. This reflects a transition from managing sites as fixed assets to treating them as an integrated experiential system with cognitive, economic, and cultural dimensions!
Today, we talk about 23 historical and enriching sites prepared for visitation, where a visitor to Makkah finds themselves in front of open historical sites, mosques with deep emotional significance, specialized museums, cultural centers, and public spaces that bridge the connection between humans and the place. From the Mountain of Light and the ascent path to the Mountain of Mercy, the Mosque of the Pledge, and mosques with a presence in the biography and history, leading to museums of the Holy Quran, the Prophetic Biography, and the architecture of the Two Holy Mosques, a diverse experience is formed, blending the senses of sight with feelings of contemplation!
Among these sites, Ain Zubaydah stands out as one of the deepest testimonies to the intersection of faith with engineering and mercy through civilizational action. For over a thousand years, this water project has remained a testament to an exceptional human effort dedicated to serving the guests of Allah, before being reintroduced today as a site prepared for visitation, allowing visitors to delve into the depths of its story within an organized environment and well-thought-out facilities that reveal its historical and engineering dimensions without compromising the authenticity of the place. There, visitors do not merely observe a preserved artifact; they live a cognitive experience that reconnects the past with the present, giving water its story, the place its memory, and the visit its profound meaning!
The importance of establishing visitor centers and activating documentation sites has also emerged, enabling visitors to embark on a cognitive journey that builds precious, unforgettable memories, and establishes emotional connections with history and place, deepening the impact of the visit and granting it a temporal value that transcends the moment into eternity in memory!
As for the “Makkah Pathways” project, it represents a qualitative shift in forming a unique identity for Makkah, combining the spiritual, historical, and cultural aspects, and rearranging the relationship between the sites—not as scattered points in the visitor’s journey, but as a story told throughout life. Not to mention the visual identity presented by the Clock Tower and the contribution of the development of the Universe Science Center in satisfying visitor satisfaction and providing a model for blending investment in content and material!
The Royal Commission for the Development of Makkah has successfully organized the rhythm of development, planning, and activation, contributing to the preparation of the sites and enhancing access to them, within a broader vision to reintroduce Makkah in a manner befitting its status, without compromising its privacy or sanctity!
