تطمح 10 منتخبات مشاركة في مونديال 2026 لتحقيق انتصارها اﻷول في تاريخ كأس العالم ومن بين المنتخبات العشرة هناك منتخبات عربية لم تذق طعم الفوز وأخرى تبحث عن الفوز في ظهورها اﻷول.
ويتقدم المنتخبات العشرة منتخب كندا المشارك في استضافة كأس العالم 2026، وكان المنتخب الكندي قد شارك في نسختي 1986 و2022، وقد لعب 6 وخسرها جميعاً ولم يذق طعم الفوز أو التعادل، ويأمل المنتخب الكندي في مشاركته الثالثة لتحقيق الفوز اﻷول.
ويأتي منتخب مصر كأكثر المنتخبات خوضاً للمباريات دون تحقيق اﻻنتصار، فقد لعب المنتخب المصري 7 مباريات في 3 مشاركات وذلك في نسخ 1934 و1990 و2018، ورغم عدم قدرته على الفوز إﻻ أن المنتخب المصري تمكن من التعادل في مواجهتين وخسر 5 لقاءات كانت إحداها أمام منتخبنا الوطني السعودي في مونديال روسيا 2018.
فيما يشارك منتخب هايتي للمرة الثانية في تاريخه بعد ظهوره اﻷول عام 1974 وخاض 3 لقاءات وخسرها جميعاً، وبنتائج كبيرة حيث تلقت شباكه 14 هدفاً في اللقاءات الثلاثة.
وفي مشاركته الثانية، يسعى منتخب العراق لتحقيق الفوز التاريخي اﻷول له في كأس العالم بعد ظهوره عام 1986 ورغم تقديمه مستويات مميزة إﻻ أنه عجز عن تحقيق اﻻنتصار آنذاك، وبعد مرور 40 عاماً يعود المنتخب العراقي مجدداً بعد تأهله الصعب بالفوز على بوليفيا في الملحق العالمي.
المنتخب الوحيد الذي لم يخسر في كأس العالم 2010 يبحث هو أيضاً عن فوزه الأول، فقد تمكن منتخب نيوزيلندا من التعادل في اللقاءات الثلاثة التي خاضها في آخر مشاركة له في كأس العالم وذلك قبل 16 عاماً، وكان ظهوره اﻷول في نسخة 1982 وخسر وقتها في اللقاءات الثلاثة، وفي ظهوره الثالث يبحث المنتخب النيوزيلندي عن فوزه الأول.
كما يسعى مستضيف النسخة الماضية 2022 منتخب قطر لتحقيق فوزه اﻷول بعد أن تعرض للخسارة في اللقاءات الثلاثة التي خاضها في ظهوره اﻷول في النسخة السابقة، ورغم أنه لعب المباريات الثلاث على أرضه وبين جماهيره إﻻ أن «العنابي» عجز عن تحقيق الانتصار التاريخي اﻷول له، ويطمح في هذه النسخة لكتابة التاريخ وحصد أول فوز له ﻻ سيما أنه سيكون في مجموعة متوازنة في المونديال.
وسيشهد مونديال 2026 الظهور اﻷول ﻷربعة منتخبات ستشارك ﻷول مرة في تاريخها وفي مقدمة تلك المنتخبات المنتخب اﻷردني الذي جاء ثانياً في المجموعة الثانية من الدور الثالث للتصفيات اﻵسيوية، كما يتواجد أيضاً منتخب أوزبكستان للمرة الأولى في تاريخه، فيما يعد منتخب الرأس اﻷخضر أحد أبرز مفاجآت قارة أفريقيا بعد تصدره منتخبات المجموعة الرابعة وتأهله بجدارة واستحقاق للمونديال، ويأتي منتخب كوراساو كآخر المنتخبات العشرة التي تبحث عن فوزها اﻷول في المونديال رغم وجوده في مجموعة صعبة للغاية.

Haiti is participating for the second time in its history after its first appearance in 1974, having played 3 matches and lost all of them, with significant results as it conceded 14 goals in those three matches.
In its second participation, Iraq seeks to achieve its historic first win in the World Cup after its appearance in 1986. Despite showing impressive performances, it failed to secure a victory back then. After 40 years, the Iraqi team returns again after a difficult qualification by defeating Bolivia in the global playoff.
The only team that did not lose in the 2010 World Cup is also looking for its first win. New Zealand managed to draw in all three matches it played in its last World Cup participation 16 years ago. Its first appearance was in the 1982 edition, where it lost all three matches. In its third appearance, the New Zealand team is searching for its first victory.
Additionally, the host of the last edition in 2022, Qatar, aims to achieve its first win after losing all three matches it played in its first appearance in the previous edition. Despite playing all three matches on home soil and among its fans, the “Maroon” failed to achieve its historic first victory. It aspires to make history in this edition and secure its first win, especially since it will be in a balanced group in the World Cup.
The 2026 World Cup will witness the first appearance of four teams that will participate for the first time in their history. Leading among these teams is the Jordanian team, which came second in Group B of the third round of the Asian qualifiers. Uzbekistan is also making its first appearance in history, while Cape Verde is considered one of the biggest surprises from Africa after topping Group D and qualifying for the World Cup with merit. Curacao is the last of the ten teams seeking its first win in the World Cup, despite being in a very tough group.
