قُتل 24 شخصاً على الأقل، اليوم (الأحد)، في تفجير استهدف قطاراً يقل عسكريين في إقليم بلوشستان المضطرب جنوب غرب باكستان.
ودان رئيس الوزراء الباكستاني شهباز شريف بشدة الانفجار الغادر للقنبلة بالقرب من تشامان فتك، في كويتا، والذي أسفر عن فقدان مأساوي لأرواح أبرياء وإصابة العديد من الآخرين.
وكتب شريف على حسابه في «إكس»: «إن مثل هذه الأعمال الجبانة للإرهاب لا يمكن أن تضعف عزم شعب باكستان»، مضيفاً: «نحن نظل صامدين في تصميمنا على القضاء على الإرهاب بجميع أشكاله وظواهره».
وأعرب رئيس الوزراء الباكستاني عن تعازيه الحارة لعائلات الضحايا، مؤكداً أن الشعب الباكستاني يقف بأكمله متضامناً مع شعب بلوشستان في هذه الساعة المؤلمة.
وكان مسؤول محلي رفيع قد قال إن الهجوم الذي وقع في كويتا، عاصمة الإقليم، أسفر أيضاً عن إصابة أكثر من 50 شخصاً، بينهم جنود في الجيش الباكستاني.
ونقلت قناة «جيو نيوز» الباكستانية عن الشرطة قولها إن القطار تعرض لضرر جزئي جراء الانفجار، فضلاً عن تضرر 10 سيارات كانت متوقفة بالقرب من موقع الانفجار، الذي امتد أثره إلى المباني المجاورة، حيث تحطمت النوافذ والواجهات الزجاجية.
وأفادت القناة بأنه تم إعلان الطوارئ في جميع المستشفيات الحكومية بمختلف أنحاء مدينة كويتا، واستدعاء الأطباء والأطقم الطبية، في حين أعلنت سلطات السكك الحديدية أنه جرى إيقاف قطار سريع كان متجهاً إلى مدينة بيشاور في محطة سكة حديد كويتا، عقب الانفجار، كإجراء احترازي.
At least 24 people were killed today (Sunday) in a bombing targeting a train carrying military personnel in the troubled Balochistan province in southwestern Pakistan.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif strongly condemned the treacherous bomb explosion near Chaman Fatak, in Quetta, which resulted in the tragic loss of innocent lives and injuries to many others.
Sharif wrote on his account on “X”: “Such cowardly acts of terrorism cannot weaken the resolve of the people of Pakistan,” adding, “We remain steadfast in our determination to eradicate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.”
The Pakistani Prime Minister expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, affirming that the entire Pakistani nation stands in solidarity with the people of Balochistan during this painful time.
A senior local official stated that the attack in Quetta, the provincial capital, also resulted in injuries to more than 50 people, including soldiers from the Pakistani army.
Geo News reported that the police said the train sustained partial damage due to the explosion, and 10 vehicles parked near the explosion site were also damaged, with the blast’s impact extending to nearby buildings, shattering windows and glass facades.
The channel reported that a state of emergency was declared in all government hospitals across the city of Quetta, with doctors and medical staff being called in, while railway authorities announced that a fast train heading to Peshawar was halted at Quetta railway station following the explosion as a precautionary measure.
