أعلن وزراء دفاع حلف شمال الأطلسي «الناتو»، اليوم (الخميس)، التزامهم بتحديث قدرات الحلف النووية. وأوضحت المجموعة التي تضم جميع الدول الأعضاء في الحلف، باستثناء فرنسا، في بيان عقب اجتماعهم في بروكسل، أن وزراء الدفاع المشاركين في الاجتماع «جددوا القول إن القوى النووية الإستراتيجية للحلف لا تزال أكبر ضمان لأمن الحلفاء وركيزة بنية الردع الموسعة له».
وذكر البيان أن وزراء الدول الأعضاء في مجموعة التخطيط النووي اتفقوا على الاستمرار في تعزيز مهمة الردع النووي للحلف من خلال تطوير قدراته النووية، وتعزيز قدرته على التخطيط النووي، والتكيف لتحقيق مصالحه الأمنية، مشددين على أهمية الحفاظ على وضع نووي آمن وفعال وذي مصداقية يهدف إلى الحفاظ على السلام وردع العدوان ومنع الإكراه.
وفيما يتعلق بتقاسم الأعباء، أكّد الحلفاء التزامهم بتقاسم المسؤوليات والمخاطر وتكاليف الدفاع الجماعي من خلال الاستثمار في الموارد والقدرات والقوات اللازمة لتنفيذ المهمة النووية لحلف الناتو وإظهار وحدة الحلف وعزمه. ويتضمن الاتفاق بين الدول الأعضاء «تكييف» السياسة النووية، و«الاستثمار في الموارد والقدرات والقوات اللازمة لتنفيذ المهمة النووية لحلف الناتو».
وأوضح وزير الدفاع الفنلندي أنتي هاكانن موافقة البرلمان الفنلندي على تشريع يدمج الردع النووي لحلف الناتو في إطار الدفاع الفنلندي. وبدأت عدة دول أوروبية، تشمل ليتوانيا وفنلندا، إجراء مناقشات لتعديل قوانينها لتتمكن من استضافة أسلحة نووية على أراضيها.
NATO defense ministers announced today (Thursday) their commitment to modernizing the alliance’s nuclear capabilities. The group, which includes all member countries of the alliance except France, stated in a statement following their meeting in Brussels that the defense ministers participating in the meeting “reiterated that the alliance’s strategic nuclear forces remain the greatest guarantee of the security of allies and a cornerstone of its extended deterrence architecture.”
The statement mentioned that the defense ministers of the member states in the nuclear planning group agreed to continue enhancing the alliance’s nuclear deterrence mission by developing its nuclear capabilities, strengthening its nuclear planning ability, and adapting to achieve its security interests, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe, effective, and credible nuclear posture aimed at preserving peace, deterring aggression, and preventing coercion.
Regarding burden-sharing, allies reaffirmed their commitment to sharing responsibilities, risks, and costs of collective defense by investing in the resources, capabilities, and forces necessary to execute NATO’s nuclear mission and demonstrate the alliance’s unity and resolve. The agreement among member states includes “adapting” nuclear policy and “investing in the resources, capabilities, and forces necessary to execute NATO’s nuclear mission.”
Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen clarified the Finnish parliament’s approval of legislation that integrates NATO’s nuclear deterrence into Finland’s defense framework. Several European countries, including Lithuania and Finland, have begun discussions to amend their laws to enable them to host nuclear weapons on their territory.
