رأس وزير السياحة أحمد بن عقيل الخطيب، ونظيرته وزيرة السياحة في الجمهورية الهيلينية أولغا كيفالوياني، اجتماع لجنة السياحة المنبثقة عن مجلس الشراكة الإستراتيجية السعودي الهيليني، الذي عُقد اليوم في مدينة طليطلة الإسبانية، على هامش الدورة الـ126 للمجلس التنفيذي لمنظمة الأمم المتحدة للسياحة.
وجرى خلال الاجتماع استعراض العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين الصديقين في قطاع السياحة، وبحث سبل تعزيز التعاون السياحي وتطويره بما يحقق المصالح والرؤى المشتركة.
وناقش الجانبان آفاق العمل المشترك في مجالات تنمية القدرات البشرية، وتبادل الخبرات السياحية، والترويج للوجهات، للارتقاء بالتجارب السياحية في البلدين.
واستعرض الوفدان التقدم المحرز في تطبيق الاتفاقيات الموقّعة سابقًا بين المملكة والجمهورية الهيلينية، منها برنامج العمل المشترك الموقع في يونيو 2024، واتفاقية التعاون في مجال السياحة الساحلية والبحرية المستدامة الموقّعة في مايو 2021.
The Minister of Tourism, Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb, and his counterpart, the Minister of Tourism of the Hellenic Republic, Olga Kefaloyani, chaired the meeting of the Tourism Committee emanating from the Saudi-Hellenic Strategic Partnership Council, which was held today in the Spanish city of Toledo, on the sidelines of the 126th session of the Executive Council of the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
During the meeting, the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries in the tourism sector were reviewed, and ways to enhance and develop tourism cooperation to achieve mutual interests and shared visions were discussed.
The two sides discussed prospects for joint work in the areas of human capacity development, exchange of tourism experiences, and promotion of destinations, to elevate the tourism experiences in both countries.
The delegations reviewed the progress made in implementing previously signed agreements between the Kingdom and the Hellenic Republic, including the joint action program signed in June 2024, and the agreement on cooperation in the field of sustainable coastal and marine tourism signed in May 2021.
