تعرض نجم منتخب بلجيكا جيريمي دوكو لانتقادات لاذعة بعد إعلانه نيته مغادرة معسكر منتخب بلاده خلال بطولة كأس العالم 2026 لحضور ولادة طفله الأول هذا الأسبوع، بحسب ما نقلته صحيفة «ميرور» البريطانية.
وشارك دوكو أساسياً في مباراة بلجيكا ومصر التي انتهت بالتعادل 1-1 في افتتاحية كأس العالم، لكنه قد يغيب عن بعض مباريات «الشياطين الحمر» في دور المجموعات لحضور ولادة طفله هذا الشهر.
جدل واسع بسبب قرار دوكو
وعلى قناة ليكيب، قالت الصحفية فرانس بييرون: «لا يمكنك تفويت كأس العالم من أجل سبب كهذا، هناك المئات من لاعبي كرة القدم الذين يتمنون لو كانوا مكانك، لكنك ستترك كل ذلك لتذهب وتشهد ولادة طفلك، رغم أن الأب عديم الفائدة في هذه اللحظة، ودوره مجرد دور ثانوي».
وقال الملاكم السابق إبراهيم أسلوم، الذي كان حاضراً أيضاً في البرنامج: «الطفل هو كل حياتك، يمكنك الفوز بكأس العالم أو الخسارة، ولكن بمجرد أن ينتهي الأمر، ينتهي كل شيء»، لترد عليه بييرون: «لكن يا إبراهيم، سيبقى طفلك معك دائماً».
Belgium national team star Jeremy Doku faced fierce criticism after announcing his intention to leave his country’s camp during the 2026 World Cup to attend the birth of his first child this week, according to the British newspaper “Mirror.”
Doku started in the match between Belgium and Egypt, which ended in a 1-1 draw in the World Cup opener, but he may miss some of the “Red Devils” matches in the group stage to attend his child’s birth this month.
Widespread Controversy Over Doku’s Decision
On L’Equipe channel, journalist France Pierron said: “You can’t miss the World Cup for a reason like this; there are hundreds of football players who wish they were in your place, but you will leave all that to go witness the birth of your child, even though the father is useless at this moment, and his role is merely secondary.”
Former boxer Ibrahim Asloum, who was also present on the show, said: “The child is your whole life; you can win or lose the World Cup, but once it’s over, everything is over.” Pierron replied to him: “But Ibrahim, your child will always be with you.”
