أعلنت الهيئة السعودية للمياه تنظيم مؤتمر الابتكار في استدامة المياه (IDWS 2026) في الفترة من 7 إلى 9 ديسمبر 2026 في مدينة جدة، ليعزز مكانة السعودية بوصفها مركزاً عالمياً للابتكار والاستثمار المائي، ومنصة دولية تجمع الحكومات والمستثمرين والمشغلين والمبتكرين لصياغة مستقبل القطاع عالمياً.
ومن المتوقع أن يستقطب المؤتمر أكثر من 10000 مشارك من 140 دولة، إلى جانب أكثر من 250 متحدثاً و150 جهة عارضة، في تجمع دولي رفيع المستوى يضم قادة الحكومات والرؤساء التنفيذيين والمستثمرين والمشغلين والباحثين وشركات التقنية ورواد الأعمال؛ لمناقشة مستقبل المياه وتسريع تطوير الحلول المائية المستدامة وتعزيز فرص الاستثمار والشراكات الدولية.
ويعكس انعقاد المؤتمر في المملكة ما حققته من إنجازات نوعية عززت مكانتها العالمية في قطاع المياه، إذ تمتلك واحدة من أكثر المنظومات المائية تطوراً وتكاملاً على مستوى العالم، وتشغّل أكثر من 500 منشأة لإنتاج المياه بطاقة تتجاوز 16.2 مليون متر مكعب يومياً، كما تتصدر دول العالم في إنتاج المياه المحلاة وتطوير تقنيات التحلية عالية الكفاءة.
ويجسد هذا التقدم ما حققته رؤية المملكة 2030 من تحولات نوعية أسهمت في بناء نموذج عالمي متقدم لإدارة الموارد المائية، وتعزيز الاستدامة، ورفع الكفاءة التشغيلية، وتحفيز الاستثمار والابتكار في القطاع.
وتمثل نسخة 2026 مرحلة جديدة في مسيرة المؤتمر، من خلال التركيز على تحويل التحديات المائية إلى فرص اقتصادية واستثمارية، وتعزيز دور المياه بوصفها محركاً للتنمية الاقتصادية وأحد الممكنات الرئيسة للنمو المستدام في مختلف القطاعات الحيوية.
ويركز المؤتمر على عدد من المحاور الإستراتيجية، تشمل حوكمة المياه، والتمويل المستدام، والشراكات بين القطاعين العام والخاص، والاقتصاد الدائري، وإدارة الأصول، والتحول الرقمي، وتطبيقات الذكاء الاصطناعي، إلى جانب استعراض الفرص الاقتصادية المرتبطة بقطاعات الطاقة والتعدين والصناعة والزراعة والسياحة والتنمية الحضرية.
السعودية شريك عالمي في صياغة المستقبل
أكد رئيس الهيئة السعودية للمياه المهندس عبدالله إبراهيم العبدالكريم أن المؤتمر يواصل ترسيخ مكانة المملكة بوصفها شريكاً عالمياً في صياغة مستقبل قطاع المياه، مشيراً إلى أن النجاحات التي حققتها النسخ السابقة تعكس الثقة الدولية المتنامية في الدور الذي تؤديه المملكة في تطوير الحلول المائية المستدامة وتعزيز التعاون الدولي.
وقال: «لم تعد المياه تحدياً تشغيلياً فحسب، بل أصبحت عاملاً إستراتيجياً في النمو الاقتصادي والأمن والاستدامة»، ومن هذا المنطلق، يأتي IDWS 2026 منصة عالمية تجمع صناع القرار والمستثمرين والمبتكرين لتسريع تطوير الحلول المائية وتحويلها إلى أثر اقتصادي وتنموي مستدام.
The Saudi Water Authority has announced the organization of the Innovation in Water Sustainability Conference (IDWS 2026) to be held from December 7 to 9, 2026, in the city of Jeddah, to enhance Saudi Arabia’s position as a global center for water innovation and investment, and as an international platform that brings together governments, investors, operators, and innovators to shape the future of the sector globally.
The conference is expected to attract more than 10,000 participants from 140 countries, along with over 250 speakers and 150 exhibitors, in a high-level international gathering that includes government leaders, CEOs, investors, operators, researchers, technology companies, and entrepreneurs; to discuss the future of water, accelerate the development of sustainable water solutions, and enhance investment opportunities and international partnerships.
The holding of the conference in the Kingdom reflects the qualitative achievements that have enhanced its global standing in the water sector, as it possesses one of the most advanced and integrated water systems in the world, operating more than 500 facilities for water production with a capacity exceeding 16.2 million cubic meters per day. It also leads the world in desalinated water production and the development of high-efficiency desalination technologies.
This progress embodies what the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 has achieved in terms of qualitative transformations that have contributed to building an advanced global model for water resource management, enhancing sustainability, increasing operational efficiency, and stimulating investment and innovation in the sector.
The 2026 edition represents a new phase in the conference’s journey, focusing on transforming water challenges into economic and investment opportunities, and enhancing the role of water as a driver of economic development and one of the key enablers for sustainable growth across various vital sectors.
The conference focuses on several strategic themes, including water governance, sustainable financing, public-private partnerships, the circular economy, asset management, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence applications, along with showcasing economic opportunities related to the energy, mining, industry, agriculture, tourism, and urban development sectors.

The Chairman of the Saudi Water Authority, Engineer Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Abdulkarim, confirmed that the conference continues to solidify the Kingdom’s position as a global partner in shaping the future of the water sector, noting that the successes achieved in previous editions reflect the growing international confidence in the role the Kingdom plays in developing sustainable water solutions and enhancing international cooperation.
He stated: “Water is no longer just an operational challenge, but has become a strategic factor in economic growth, security, and sustainability.” From this perspective, IDWS 2026 serves as a global platform that brings together decision-makers, investors, and innovators to accelerate the development of water solutions and transform them into sustainable economic and developmental impacts.
