The Houthi attack on Riyadh Airport has doubled and left four Syrian children orphaned, after it caused the loss of their mother, Buthaina Awida, who died as a result of the incident, having already lost their father.
The crime has affected an entire family by militias that do not care about civilians and do not value humanity.
After the little ones lost their mother, who was their support after their father’s departure, Advisor Turki Al Sheikh reacted to their tragedy with a profoundly humane word: “My children,” commenting on a clip during their mother’s funeral broadcast by Al Arabiya.
This word embodies the meaning of compassion and inclusion among Saudis, adopting the grieving children with paternal meanings.
This interaction highlights the values of mercy and loyalty among Saudis towards those who live among them, sharing families’ sorrows as well as their joys.
“My children” came as a succinct expression of this human connection, in the face of a tragedy that left four children without a mother or father.
